My 47in lcd tv lg turns off after about 2 hours of use then every 5 min if you turn it off and back on it will stay on for 5 min is it worth fixing?

I have exactly the same problem, my unit has been sent to the service centre 3 times already and they still haven't fixed it. It appears to be a main board issue. I will send it back again for servicing and will NOT take it back unless the main board is replaced.

Check and make sure the software is updated on the set.

If TV does not remain in standby and turns on itself then power switch on top of it could be defective and power supply board is also suspected. Take off its back cover and unplug top switch connector just to confirm is that cause of On-Off its own. If problem still exist then power supply board has problem and will be replaced. Let me know the results to move forward.

the software in the main control is damaged. call your lg servicer in your area. he might get you a software update
