If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.

Chances are you have a shorting membrane keypad.

Please let me know your full model number and more details on what it's doing and I can give you the information you need.

Dear friends..

The problems you have described have to do with preprogrammed computer circuit boards that cannot be serviced except by GE authorized service persons. Since these ovens are out of warranty I am sorry to say you need to replace them. Service on these units would be at least twice as expensive as a new one.

Your membrane keypad is wearing out.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

The keypad is part number WB27X10171 and you can get it here for $91.68 plus shipping.

If you would like to have us do this repair for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs nationwide.

SOURCE: Ge Microwave model JVM1650SH05 Error code F3.

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.

The easiest and quickest way to repair this yourself (it's easy) is to order a new control panel frame, which comes with a new keypad.

It's part # WB07X10959 and you can get it for $92.50 plus shipping here.

You can also find helpful exploded view diagrams at that link.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

SOURCE: ge microwave OTR model HVM1750SM1SS turns itself on

There is a Web site dedicated to this issue. I am aware of a suit involving other older models.

You have a shorting membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.

That rule is even more important in this case.

On this model, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.

It's actually a pretty easy do it yourself job.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Next, disconnect the strip as shown in the photo below, then remove the screws that hold your circuit board in the old frame.

Then carefully (since the display is made of glass) move your circuit board to the new frame, and reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.

The part number to order is WB07X11056 and you can get it here for $130.51 plus shipping. (That compares to $189.75 direct form GE)

You can also find helpful exploded view diagrams at that link.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

GE JES2150MRSA f3 code microwave turns on by itself, beeps out of control starts cooking by itself f3 is a control panel error

"F3" means you have a shorting membrane keypad.

Looking at the parts list for model JES2150MRSA, only the glass turntable and turntable support are listed, so it appears this is one of those unsupported "doorbuster" models.

If it's still in warranty, it can be exchanged. If not, it should be disposed of.

Problem with handle on microwave

It sounds looks like there is problem with the model number for your GE microwave. However the handle will usually involve taking the door apart. I can supply you with a breakdown diagram but i would need a proper model number off the microwave itself.

My GE microwave started running by it's self. It first said 3.5oz and would not stop until door was opened. then it started beeping and wouldn't stop until door was opened. we unplug hoping it would reset...

It sounds as if you key pad is sticking. PF means that there is an input power problem but could be caused by the sticking keypad.. As far as the unit starting bu itself, the only thing that can cause that is the keypad.. Try running your fingers flat across the panel several times both vertically and horizontally and see if the pad malfunction clears. It will probably repeat in the future but you could get lucky and have a one time instance. The keypad itself is just a bit over $75.00 if it has failed. Good luck.

GE Microwave stops running

Mostly with GE I find this to be bad connections at the fuse holder or a bad fuse due to a bad fuse holder. It will break connection and reset the unit when the connection gets hot and expands and then opens and stops power from getting to the unit.
