Motor runs but base doesn't spin to do the trimming. How can I fix this? I have a Black & Decker 14 inch Grass hog- electric trimmer.
I have a black and decker grass hog that won't turn. The motor runs and I was using it just fine when suddenly the line stopped spinning. How can I fix this?
I have a trimmer purchased last year. It's the Grass Hog 14" Black & Decker Electric Trimmer. I hope this answers your question.

sounds like the cable has broke inside the tube or it popped out of place. loosen the bolt on the motor casing holding the tube and separate the two pieces and pull the cable out. Should be a square at each end of cable.. if not post again
I bought the electric grasshog trimmer. Worst investment I ever made on Garden supplies. The line is completely gong within ten feet of trimming. I've used it four times and gone through twenty spools. In the trash now.
i have the same problem, the plastic timing pulley on the motor assembly is probably melted, remove all the screws down the side of the housing, including the one hidden under the label, and you will find that the belt and the pulley are both chewed up.
