Internal speaker not working - HP Audio Players & Recorders

Make sure the internal speakers are selected in the output section of Sound mixer. These are not digital speakers.

Try the following steps:
Open your laptop carefully (look out for fragile ribbon cables) !
Check for a broken wire going to the internal speaker.
Check for a faulty contact at the audio output jack (these things have a contact which disconnects the internal speaker when a plug is connected).
Temporarily connect any speaker in the place of the internal speaker.
If the problem is still the internal speaker, remove it and go to any good audio components shop and buy an equivalent speaker.

Hi, I understand that external speakers are working but internal speakers are not working on your laptop.
This could be due to the socket you are using to connect external speaker. if the socket's inside contacts looses the contact it cannot internal speakers.

If external speakers are working fine the the issue is with internal speakers.
Id neither external nor internal are working then reinstall the audio drivers.

No need to worry thats means the internal speaker is no longer in a working condition. You just need to replace the internal speaker and after that every thing will b perfect. But before replacing the speaker just press it little on the top some times the speaker gets lose and stops working so check it before replacing. I hope this will help in solving your problem.

Usually the internal speakers work when the stereo jack for external speakers if removed from the socket, so just give it a try....................sodeep

Open your case and find a cable that comes from your internal speaker and connect it to pins on motherboard marked pc speaker or int.speaker or speaker

Connecting headphones to the system will disabled the internal speakers until the headphone jack is disconnected, at which such time the internal speakers should function again.

If you disconnect the headphones and the internal speakers are not re-activated, then there may be damaged to the microswitch in the jack. (Try rebooting after the headphones are disconnected too)

Nothing is wrong. Most computers automatically turn off the internal seakers after the external seakers are connected. Go to cntrol pannel and see what you can do under audio options or some such equivelent. Check back with more problems,
