Probably most of the small memory cards(sd, mini sd, micro sd-some may need an adaptor, sometimes included with your purchase)
Maybe, CF memory card, but most manufacturers tend not to include this format. Most definitely, you must have usb memory slot.

Nikon B500 camera. I put a new memory card in my Nikon B500 and the camera says 'card not present'.

Is it this type of card?

The B500 is compatible with SDHC and SDXC cards. That means you can use cards from 4GB all the way to the largest cards currently available. (at that time 128GB)

And is it less than 128GB?

Your Nikon Coolpix B500 Digital Camera is compatible with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards.

It wont read the cards

A: Make sure you're using a supported memory card. See the table below for specifications:

Memory Card Type Maximum Capacity CompactFlash Card
(Type I and Type II--3.3V only) 8GB Microdrive (3.3V only) 4GB SD (Secure Digital) 2GB MultiMediaCard 1GB

If you connect a compatible CompactFlash (CF) adapter that can read 8GB memory cards, you can also use the memory cards listed below (with a capacity up to 8GB):

  • Memory Stick
  • Memory Stick Duo
  • Memory Stick PRO
  • Memory Stick PRO Duo
  • xD-Picture Card
  • SmartMedia Card (3.3V only)

I have pictures in playback when my memory card is in camera and none without memory card in camera but when I put memory card into a card reader and put into my computer the pictures do not show up, I am...

What type and size memory card? Is your card reader compatible with the card?

If I had to take a guess, you're using an SDHC card (4GB or larger) while your card reader is only compatible with SD cards (2GB or smaller).

Why is my memory card reader not reading memory card?

What type and size memory card? What card reader? Is the card reader compatible with it? For example, SDHC cards will fit into an SD card reader, but unless the reader was designed specifically to be compatible with SDHC cards as well as SD cards, it won't work.

Card do not display data

Try formatting the card. Note depending on what you are using it for, some items out there are not compatable with the card as there are different types. Check the website on the item you are using it for, would tell you what type of memory card is compatable.

Want to upgrade memory from 16MB. Is type M memory compatible?

the Type M suffers slower read-write speeds than the original cards. But we have
been using them and also have tried the H card and see no difference.

Memory card errors

I know that with a few cameras, this error will come up when you are using the wrong type of memory card. Check your memory card type and make sure it is compatable with the camera. You can check memory card compatability in the manual or on the website. http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/spec.do?group=camerascamcorders&type=digitalcameras&subtype=sseries&model_cd=EC-S860ZUBA/US&fullspec=F

Memory card compatibility

Yes, SDHC memory cards are compatible with the Canon Powershot A700, so that means you can use card with capacities over 2GB. You can also see the manual to verify this, Canon Powershot A700 Manual. On page 8, it says that SDHC memory cards are compatible.
