There is no water or soap coming out when the trigger is pressed. However on the small attachment tool the shampoo solution is spraying out of this when the button is pressed. The belt appears to be fine.

My Bissell will not dispense soap. I thought that since so many other people are having the same problem, a solution would be posted.

I pressed in the release valve lever....nothing. Nor does the RED spinner rotate. Now what? Is the pump part of the heating element?..or where is the pump...because it's not spraying water.

    this works

If this is anew machine ,

See if the hose attachment dispenses water ,

If so try taking of the handle look down into the top of the machine ware the handle fits you will see the top of the water release valve, press this in ,if water comes out of the spray tips and the red spinner spins try hadding a thin shim to the bottom of the handle plunger, the handle should then make full contact with the valve.

Take out the water reservoir and check the rubber return gasket

Troubleshooting for Bissell proheat

Does water squirt out of the hose nozzle, if it does, then check the heater inside the handle asm. Make sure that where the tubes hook up to it are not clogged. If water doesn't squirt, check for the seal at the bottom of the tank, it needs to be on the tank, not in the hole, this is for the soap bottle, there is a seal on the bottom of it as well. The flow indictor cap is leaking air or maybe is too tight. If you had the top cover off, make sure that the tubes are routed right so as not to get pinched when the cover is put back on, the smart mix knob should be in the water setting and that the piston is on the bottom of the smart mix knob. Pump is bad. Try running a mix of vinegar and water to see if that unclogs the lines. Is the top cover and the base tight together in the back, sometimes the top breaks loose and it will raise up and it can't spray, just re-fasten it down.

Bissell power shoot carpet cleaner

It sounds like the heater may be plugged. This is a problem for an experienced technician. The heater is located in the handle and they are prone to plugging at the tubing connections. The heater is heating soap and water solution and this can cause the soap to coagulate and plug the lines. It must be addressed carefully to avoid damaging the heater.
