There is a setting on your acer that might have been set for only a certain period of time. Try also taking a look at any internet security on your PC , disable it. Programs such as norton, mccafee, or avg has settings that affects internet connection, when connected thru the router

Can I get a better rate if I am a senior citizen 70

Hey Donna,
I am not sure what you are talking about... If its an internet provider service (internet connection) I do not know of anyone that gives seniors a discount for unlimited data... AARP might have a connection with a discount.. but it wil limit your date,, thats the only way you can get a discount..

Solved Problem on Limited Or No Connectivity error message

Solving Limited Or No Connectivity error message

On setting up or make network connections on a Windows computer, you may encounter a Limited Or No Connectivity error message similar to the following:

Limited or no connectivity: The connection has limited or no connectivity. You might be unable to access the Internet or some network resources.

This message can result from any of several different technical glitches or configuration problems. Follow these steps to resolve Limited Or No Connectivity errors in Windows.

Here's How:
Determine whether your network access is functioning properly (that you can reach local network resources and the Internet). If you are using a broadband Internet and Windows XP Service Pack 2, this message is often a false error report. If your network access is non-functional. continue to the following steps.

If your computer connects to the network through a broadband router , resetting (powering off and on) the router may resolve the issue. If not using a broadband router, or if resetting your router only temporarily resolves the issue and the error message re-appears later, continue to the following steps.

If connecting to your network using Wi-Fi and using wireless security, your WEP or other security key may not be set properly. Check the wireless security configuration on your computer's network adapter and update if it necessary.

If connecting to your network using an Ethernet cable, your cable may have failed. Temporarily replace your network cable with a new one to determine whether this resolves the issue.

If using a broadband router and DHCP on your network, check your computer's IP address to verify it is valid and not a private address that starts with 169.254. An invalid address of the form 169.254.x.x signifies your computer's inability to obtain a usable IP address from your router.

To resolve DHCP configuration problems, proceed to the following steps.

Reboot your computer, router (if present) and broadband modem together, then re-test your connection.

If your connection remains non-functional, run the Windows Network Repair utility on your computer.

If your connection remains non-functional, update your router settings to change from dynamic to static IP address configuration, and set an IP address on the computer appropriately.

If your connection remains non-functional, unplug your router and connect the computer directly to your broadband modem. If this configuration is functional, contact the manufacturer of your router for additional support.

If your computer is connecting to your network directly through a broadband modem, or if your Internet access remains non-functional after following the instructions above, contact your Internet provider for support.

Why am i losing my internet connection before my data bundle expires/depletes

Suggest you contact your internet provider and see if there is some problem on their end. Also ask if you have exceeded their data plan of usage.
For example my Straight Talk phone plan states unlimited data, text and internet access, however in fine print I only have 2GB's of data.
Hardly 'unlimited' wouldn't you say?

It makes it so for example, that only so many videos can be watched on Youtube, etc.
Once the 2GB limit is reached that's it folks!

Wanadoo router (Livebox) is "open"

Welcome to FixYa.

If you are in France, then chances are, your internet service provider is not ORANGE Broadband? (http://shop.orange.co.uk/broadband/)

Wanadoo router (livebox) has locked its router for their broadband service only or at least an affiliated one.

Try to use the CD that came with it to setup the connection and you will find out while entering your username and password, you will receive and error that says what you entered is not a domain used by Wanadoo.

Livebox will not try to authenticate over PPPoA unless the user has entered a username within a Wanadoo domain.

That is why there is no way to login to it's GUI (http://192.186...).

You can try http://192.168.1.200 or http://192.168.1.1 (this one should be the correct one)

There is no contact information for France since the internet service provider of Wanadoo operates only in the UK. (http://shop.orange.co.uk/broadband/)

I hope this information will save you time in searching for answers that do not matter.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have a great day.

Can't set up wireless connection

  1. Check in your system: Click Control Panel, then double click System. On the Hardware tab click Device Manager. Click the (+) sign besides the Network Adapter. See if the Packard bell wireless adaptor is there. If its is not there, right click the Network Adapter and click Scan for hardware changes, and reinstall the network adapter.
  2. If the Packard bell network adapter is already there, click Start and click My Network Places. On the left side of the Network Connection, click View Network Adapter. The wireless network adapter should be there. Right click the wireless network adapter and choose properties. Give check mark on Show icon in notification area when connected (to show you if there is wireless notification), and give check mark to Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity (to show if the wireless network is disconnected). and click OK
  3. Turn on the orange broadband livebox. And right click the the wireless network connection (on Network Connection) and choose View Available Wireless Networks. And the click the Orange broadband Livebox to use this wireless Network connection.
I hope this solution is helpful to solve your problems
