I have a Toshiba DVD Video Player Model SD 260. I

Hello, The problem could be dirt on the surface of the lens, you can clean this by removing the cover of the dvd player . Gently use a dry cotton bud to clean the lens because the lens is fragile. Insert the disc plate into the dvd player and press play, if it does not play try the second method. Ensure the cover of the player is open, connect the power plug to the mains socket and observe the lens if it beam a red light, Also check the ribbon cable use to connect the lens to the printed circuit board, then gently clean the lens with a dry cotton bud , insert the disc plate and press play to see if it play. If it does not play the disc, then this require a change of the lens

Turn the power off and on again

Is it model with automatic cover of lens, like the DSC-T3 has? Problem is probably with lens cover. Try to move it (or help while it is trying to open/close) by your finger. It does sometimes if it is dirty (inside). I gues because you did not write the model name and number and on the picture is DSC-T1, but it has only 5.Mpix. If you have model with telescopic lens it is probably damaged gears of lens.

Toshiba PDR-3300 Lens cover message

Hi Judy, thanks for coming to FixYa.
Sorry no one has gotten to you sooner. Your manual mentions this and this is what it says to do:

Turn the camera on and move the lens cover switch to the open. Then your camera should operate normally. Let me know if that helps.

"lens error" error message

Got to the menu in the camera, click on the lens sixe you wish to use. Then take some pictures, try changing the sizes ans see the diffetrent results.

Also it might be that you did not open the lens cover completely before you take the picture.

Take care

SONY HANDYCAM DCR-40

Lens cover error message comes when its not opend. There is a switch inside Front Cover (where lens and mic mounted) got bad contact. Open that Front cover and unscrew the circuit board, put 1 drop of W-40 cleaner oil and fix back all things.

When powered up, "Remove lens cover, press button"

The symptom of "remove lens cover" always showing can be caused by two different things. If the lens assembly has become jammed and will not move when the camera tries to extend it - this can cause the message. On some cameras a stuck-closed shutter can cause this message as well. The symptom you describe of seeing two images prior to the failure is strange. I cannot make any kind of conclusion from that information without further elaboration. Does the lens extend when you turn the power on? If not the lens is jammed. Do you see nothing but black all the time on the screen and the captured photos? If so the shutter is stuck closed. Either of these problems will require complete disassembly and re-setting of the lens elements. Check with your manufacturer and see if they will fix it under warranty. If not, there are service providers available on the internet who can service your camera. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
