Yes, with limitations. The lenses will fit on any Pentax (now Ricoh) digital SLR. You may lose autofocus and/or auto exposure metering.

Take the lens to a repair facility. When you've recovered from the shock of the cost, look on Ebay for a replacement. FYI, it may be better to get an f1.7 lens instead - far far cheaper, and the f1.4 was notorious for less than optimum optics wide open. You'll only lose half a stop or so, which is negligible.

All images on my slr digital camera are very light almost non existent picture
have you checked your exposure and aperture? To high an exposure or too large and aperature can affect the picture quality. I have a model like this I think. When you look in the view finder, there is a meter with a meter that, if the batteries are good, should move up when there is too much light, and down when there's not enough. If you can get that meter to the middle, you'll be OK. The closer to the middle that needle is, the better the quality. :)

When I take daylight shots that have a large portion of sky in them, they are invariably underexposed. I have tried different modes, P and manual, and all have the same result. The meter "thinks"...
There is nothing wrong with your camera. You nailed the explanation....your meter thinks there is plenty of light and cuts down the exposure. Two ways to do this: 1. Point your camera toward the part you want properly exposed and press the exposure lock button. Then, recompose, focus and shoot. 2.Press the exposure compensation button and set a lower number.

PENTAX K1000 CAMERA EXPOSURE METER IS NOT WORKING
Clean the battery cap and contacts with a pencil eraser including the cap threads.
there are no new parts available for this model Pentax, so a good used part repair could be expensive.
An inexpensive hand held light meter might be the way to go if the cleaning did not work, and the camera is otherwise working good.

I have a pentax zx-60 and when i turn it on all it says is av and i am trying to get it to say manual how do i do that
I love my Pentax!

Use the exposure mode set to metered manual mode using the [mode] button until the [M] is selected on the far right of the LCD screen2.gif.
The [M} is to the right of the [Tv] and [Av] selections.

Also, there is a switch on the camera2.gif body where the lens is attached... switch from AF to MF (UP position) (AutoFocus to ManualFocus).

The meter inthe viewfinder will continue to work so that tou can use the built-in meter to assist in your manual configfuration.

Exposure needle not working
clean the battery cover and contact with a pencil eraser making sure the cap threads are also clean.
this is a fairly expensive repair if the meter or circuit board needs replacing ( no new parts are available ).
if the meter still does not work, and the K1000 is in good working order buy a inexpensive hand held light meter.

Light meter
Yes, the Pentax ME Super has a built-in light meter. It is used by the ME Super in order to determine the correct exposure settings when the camera is used in the "A" (Autoexposure) & "AV" (Aperture-priority) exposure modes.

I don't mean to insult you, but have you tried new batteries?

Sometimes the meter fails when the batteries don't have enough juice.

Pentax k1000 film advance lever flip stuck open The little silver flip open lever is stuck open. I can still rewind load etc but flip is in open position and will not budge. I am afraid to force it as it may break off. Help :)
