Error - "Close cartidge access door"

I keep getting "Door Open, Close cartridge acess door" error. Where is the sensor for the door?

Posted by on

  • Anonymous Oct 23, 2007

The door hinge or the edge are clear, no wires seen anywhere near. There is a prong at bottom of the bed that goes down when the door is lowered(closed). This could be the operating arm but this is inside. I am still struggling to open the printer. It does not have many screws to remove. Puzzling....

Is there any service manual anywhere?

The printer cartidge carrier keeps jamming. How

Solution
Follow these steps until the error message is resolved.
Step one: Turn the All-in-One off and on again

1. Press the On button ( ) to turn the product off.
2. Press the On button ( ) again to turn the product on.

If the error message is not resolved, continue to the next step.
Step two: Clear any paper jam
1. Turn off the product and unplug the power cord.
2. Turn the product around to access the back of the product.
3. Open the rear access door:
1.Locate the tab on the left side of the door and press it toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
2. As the door shifts to the right, pull the door out slightly to release.
3.When the door is released, gently remove the door by sliding the door out and to the left.

4. From the rear access opening, gently pull the jammed paper out of the rollers.
5. Replace the rear access door:
1.Insert the two posts on the right of the door into the holes on the right side of the opening.
2.Press the tab on the left side of the door toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
3.As the door shifts to the right, push in the left side of the door to lock it into position.
6.Reconnect the power cord and turn the product on.

If the error message is not resolved, continue to the next step.
Step three: Make sure that the print carriage can move freely
Follow these instructions to make sure the print carriage can move freely.

1.With the product turned on, open the print cartridge access door. The print carriage might try to move into the access area. If so, allow it to move to that position.
2.Without turning off the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product. Unplug the power cord from the power source. The power cord must be unplugged to allow the parts to be moved by hand and to reset the paper feed mechanism, without the risk of an electrical shock.
3. Looking in through either the print cartridge access door or the output paper tray, make sure the print cartridges are locked into the carriage and have not come loose. Also, make sure that there are no obstructions under or around the carriage to block it from moving.
4.Make sure the print carriage can move freely across the width of the product by gently pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right. Clear any obstructions found.
You may have to reach through the output paper tray to access the print carriage.
5.Close the print cartridge access door and plug the power cord back to the back of the product. Plug the power cord into the power source.
6.Press the On button to turn on the product.

Step four: Remove the print cartridges
Improper placement or installation of the print cartridges can cause a carriage stall error condition. Follow these instructions to remove the print cartridges.

1.Make sure the printer is turned on.
2.Open the print cartridge access door, and then wait until the print carriage is idle and silent.

3.Press down lightly on the end of each print cartridge to release it.
*
The tri-color print cartridge is on the left.
*
The black or photo print cartridge is on the right.

4.Slide both cartridges out and place them on a clean sheet of paper.

5.Disconnect the power cord.
6.Move the carriage all the way to the left with your hand.
7.Close the print cartridge access door.
8.Reconnect the power cord.
9.Turn the product on, if necessary.

If the error message is resolved, the placement of the print cartridges caused the problem. Complete Step five: Reinstall the print cartridges. There is no need to complete any steps after Step five.

2.Close the print cartridge access door.
3.Align the print cartridges.
1.Press OK at each of the prompts on the control panel to start print cartridge alignment.

My printer dont want to print

The error 1203 error message on the operator panel could indicate a problem with one of the ink cartridges. Please follow the steps given below:

1. Please make sure the All-In-One is powered on.
2. Pull the control panel towards you, and then open the cartridge access door. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position.
3. Pull the old cartridges towards you, and then lift them out.
4. With the cartridges out of the printer, shut the access door and the control panel.
5. Power the printer OFF and then back ON.
6. Please check the operator panel to see if the same error has returned or if a new message has appeared.
7. If the message displayed is 1203, there is something wrong with the printer hardware.
If the message now displaying is Cartridge Missing, do the following:

1. Reinstall the cartridges into the printer.
2. Insert the color cartridge in the left carrier. Insert the black cartridge in the right carrier.
3. Push back firmly on the cartridges until they snap securely into place.
4. Close the cartridge access door, and then close the control panel.
5. If the 1203 message is still present on the operator panel, you need to insert one cartridge at a time to determine which cartridge is producing the failure.
6. With one cartridge in the carrier, close the access door and control panel.
7. Please check the operator panel. If the 1203 error is displayed, this cartridge is the defective item. If the Cartridge Missing message is displayed, the second cartridge is producing the failure.
8. Please replace the defective cartridge.

Step two: Service your product
If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

Good Luck!!!

Door error message

you may have a broken cartridge lock or door sensor. remove all the toner cartridges. then open and close the door and watch for 4 white hooks that open and close on the right interior of the machine where the cartridges are installed. if three of the 4 open and close with door then the one that doesn't is your broken lock. if all 4 work then you have a broken door sensor. Good luck.
