Tips to repair your remote control.

can you tell us the model number of your universal remote control?

1 - Hold the clear tv buttom until all 4 light flash red
2- Press the red tv buttom
3- Press the amount of time needed on the up cursor ( around select buttom) until your tv shut down
4-When the tv goes off press the search buttom ( at the end on the right side )
5-Press record

Then u can use the red tv buttom to control ur tv and u can control the volume on satelitte mode without going back to tv mode , if u press too much time while searching the code and the tv wont light back , do the same thing but instead pressing the up cursor press the down one to go back on the code it will be faster .

Does the TV turn off on it's own, or is the remote being pointed at the TV when it goes off - without you pressing the power button on the remote? If the TV goes off with the remote pointed at it (without you pressing the power button), it could be old batteries, or you need a new remote. Have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote? If it's not the batteries, have you got a universal remote lying around somewhere that you can program to operate the TV and try to operate the TV with it? If you determine that it's not the remote, it is probably something to do with the infrared remote sensor, or something faulty in the sensor's circuit board that controls the power switch. How old is the TV? If still under warranty, I would call the manufacturer and explain your problem. They will be able to assist you with any further questions you may have. The number for the manufacturer's Customer Service is located inside of the owner's manual. If you no loner have the manual, you can easily get the contact info via the manufacturer's website. Rear projection hdtv, most likely damaged tubes. Don't repair this by your self get a tv repair man to do it before you injure your self.

Mine was doing that and I ordered a replacement power supply board for it and now it work. It's fairly easy to replace.

same problem. TV turns on but no picture or sound. when i press power button on the remote control orange light flashes for about a minute and goes back to red.
TV won't turn on. It iz frustating me a lot ay !

same frustrating symptoms on brand new 42inch here! tv just turns itself off sometimes without warning or if changing to certain channels. leaves red light flashing for a while then red light goes away. any attempts with remote gives flashing green liht on tv. manual power off and on restarts tv but auto off again. found while manual power on keep changing channel on remote till stable picture appears. then use remote to shut down tv - solid red light indicates standby mode. then use remote to turn on again... till next time it happens. but what is technical fault??
