The only memory card you can use are the Sony Memory Sticks. You cannot use a Sony Memory Stick Pro, so you have to find one that is under 512MB capacity and does NOT say "Pro" on it. You cannot use any other format memory card such as SD or SDHC.
Go to Start/ My Computer/ and check the camera card (not stick which refers to an external USB memory) It will be there named D: or E: open all the folders there one by one - also folders witthin folders - the photos have to be there.
Easy, just change the camera's USB connection to the DSC mode. You don't need any software when the camera is in DSC mode, it looks like a memory stick or card reader to your computer.
Enter the picture viewing mode, press the "menu /OK" button, arrow down to menu "2", arrow down to "Set", right arrow to the sub menu, Arrow down to menu "3", arrow down to "USB", right arrow and arrow up to change from "Pict Bridge" to "DSC", left arrow out and press "menu/OK" button.
Many cameras will not let you write to the card. Try using a card reader, which will make the memory card appear to the computer as a separate hard drive.
You cant delete the folders as the camera makes them to store photos , when you just connect the memory stick without the camera into a card reader you can delete the photos .However the 2 folders are there because 1 is used to store the internal memory pictures and the memory stick or you might have created another folder by changing the path of storage
Dear LisaLu,
If the file extention of picture i.e JPGE has been changed, camera wont show that picture.
You should paste those pictures in same folder of cyber-shot.
The 85 and 717 were the first cams able to use a contigous 256Mb Pro stick as far as I know, the 707 and 75 are stuck with the originals or the Switchable ones which defeat the object as if you've gotta pull it to switch "halves" you may as well take 2 normal and cheaper sticks along..
