DVD PLAYER NOT INITIALIZING

AFTER SWITCH ON FROM STANDBY IT DOES NOT POWER UP, INITIALIZE, BOOT-UP ETC. AT ALL.

Ok sir! at your case! you have defective power oscillation! or your two regulator IC is defective thats why your unit is not oscillating on!

Unlock code for pioneer bdp140

Switch on the player & Remove any disc
Close the tray
Press Home Menu on the Pioneer Remote
Select Initial Settings
"Press the hack button on the remote" <-- The IR signal hack that's for normal DVD players with Philips pronto etc
Select Options using the Pioneer Remote
Select Load Default
Once defaults are loaded complete the Settings Wizard
Switch Player Off then On again
Press Home Menu on the Pioneer remote
Select Initial Settings
Type 8520 on the Pioneer remote
Region setting should now be 0

I bought a Sagemcom freeview box and it was hopeless and so complained to the manufacturer. After exchanging a few emails it transpired a large chain store had sold me a box with software version 1 loaded and the current version was number 5 - the company sent a replacement with version 4 loaded and it has behaved very well for the last couple of years. I like this box as on replay it has a jump forward 5 minutes button that means I watch many fewer adverts.

The box with version 1 took up to 12 or 15 minutes to boot, pixelated and froze frequently. The replacement boots and initialises every time when switched on from standby, it has to do or the hard drive would need to spin constantly, however the process takes less than two minutes and not much more when recovering from the power being switched off.

It is possible your box needs the software updating, especially when there was initially so much dissatisfaction with recording top boxes - I knew one guy who had five before he got one that worked as well as advertised and another person who had three and the fourth worked but not well. These days almost everyone is satisfied and I believe it is mainly due to software improvements than to the electronics.

I have seen no rechargeable device that requires the power switch that lets the device function turned on. Often, it is mentioned that the length of time for a full charge will be longer if the unit is in use at the time since the unit and recharging function both require power and if the player is in use, it logically has priority over the recharging function. In other words, it should charge more quickly if the player is turned off.
Unfortunately, Initial's website: http://initialdvd.com/ is no longer in operation so finding the manual could be a problem. Initial Technology has sold a number of 'turkeys' in the US (we own an Ilo TV) and I think they no longer exist.

Hi,

Initially, pls try:

Verify that the tray is empty/no disc in the player;
Shut down/off with the front panel On/Off button and not the standby;
Press and hold the Open/Close, Play and Skip Reverse (I<<) buttons;
Maintain pressing on the above buttons and Power-ON the player with the On/Off button, (again while still holding the above buttons till the "Denon 2910" disappears from the display);
pls wait till LOADING completes and the front panel would display 0:00:00;
Using the remote control, enter 7, 3, 1, 9, 4, 6, 2, & 8;
The Denon 2910 will go into standby mode. Soon as it is on standby, pls press the Standby button on the front panel;
Pls verify region free update by pressing the Stop and Skip Forward (>>I) buttons on the front panel. The display would show “Region_Ax” The x would be the former region number that the Denon 2910 is locked into;
Should it not work ouot as expected, pls redo all the above steps.

Stuck on DEMO Mode

Just try to initialize THE plager again. Without cd in the player switch on the power while pressing the Play, Open and Next Track button. On the display it says " initialized" Ready. Frits van Heekesen Nijmegen The Netherlands
