Replace meter light - Galaxy Radios DX-2517 CB Radio

first you have to the front off the radio to view the meter.now once you have done this check the wiring going to the meter.How bout this,its a whole lot easier .Take your volt meter and check the diodes right in front of the meter ,there should be four of them. check them for continuity to see which one is bad. if you find a bad one replace it and the light should light.prowl around with your voltmeter in that general area and if you find something not working replace it. you could also start off taking the front face off the radio or take it to a tech and let him get agrivated, but thats what he gets paid for.

If you mean the light in the meter, those can be hard to replace and mosts shops would replace the meter itself which would up the cost. It is probably a 12 or 14 volt bulb(s). Look at the back of the meter and see if there is a removable socket to get at the bulb... if not, then the bulb(s) is internal and probably a soldered in grain of wheat bulb(s). If you have never worked on meters before it takes GREAT care to keep contamination out when working on them. I would certainly not pay $85 to have bulbs replaced... use an external lamp if you really need to seee the meter... one of the little LED ones would work.

old type amps or meters uses sort of back lighting only. it's either peanut type bulb or fuse like bulb. dpending on the voltagew requirement too, you may check one of the meters still lites working and see the specs of the bulb. it should no te hard to replace. it also runs on AC supply so no worry of wrong connection.

You need to open the unit up ( remove the case/cover). Then remove the 4 screws holding the face plate on. Remove all the knobs ( they slip off) . remove any screws holding the meter on ( there may be none depending on which model you have ) . slide the meter out of the face plate and replace the meter with a new meter. Note: The meter light needs to be reistalled in the new meter. It simply slides out the side of the old meter and slide back in the new meter. Replace all the screws, and the jobs completed.
