Has a shadow on picture. Red, Green is not alligned

Color just change then has a double image on everything. Please help

magic focus on prod. 61uwx10ba doesn't work, and users manual states that green projection lamp is not adjustable but red and blue are. I'm not sure if I should attempt to manually adjust my the red. If I cover the red lamp blue and green match perfectly, it only shadows with on 1/3 of my screen.

You need to set your convergence. Check your owner's manual on how to do it. I'm not sure the exact procedure on that model, but usually you can find it in the setup menu of the tv. What you're trying to do is line the red and the blue up perfectly with the green so that they all blend together to give you one picture.

53 inch projection tv...seems like the color red and color blue have shifted giving me a picture with red and blue shadows

For CRT projection TV's, this indicates that the Green picture tube is burned (warn out). The less green that strikes the screen, the more redish the image will look. You will need to find an old school TV repair shop that knows how to replace picture tubes.
In the case of a DLP style TV, the color wheel needs replacing.

Red images with green projected to the right with a green halo on upper and lower left corners

This set needs a fluid change. Between the face of the picture tubes and projection lens there is a layer of coolant fluid. The fluid has turned a milky brown color and is degrading the picture. The tubes have to be removed in order to do this properly. I would suggest you contact a repair shop and have them check it out for you as this can be very complicated. Thanks for using fixya and I hope this helps you out.

I am getting a double image on my 48 inch television how can i get rid of it? it is showing colors green and red on double image

Assuming that your TV is a rear-projection TV, then it sounds like the separate red, green & blue tubes aren't set correctly.

Each tube needs to be alligned exactly to produce the image on the screen. If any of the 3 are mis-alligned then the effect you describe is caused.

Somewhere in the menu settings, will be an option to set the Convergence. This option will allow you to set the allignment of all three tubes.

Older sets do not have this option, and need to be adjusted via controls on the main PCB.

Did you use the Automatica Convergence to try and straighten it out? If that does not help, you can manually adjust the convergence.

Check settings first to make sure no one changed anything out of the ordinary. Are the shadows that of a color or darkened shadow? It could be out of convergence, which can be corrected in the menu - or it could be low quality video cables to. Also, if there is no green, does a white color show up when you're in a menu mode (Red+Blue+Green = White Image)? If so, then the green picture tube is working and it's just a color adjustment, otherwise you may have to invest in a new green picture tube.

TV PROBLEMS

If the images are different colors (red, green, blue) then the convergence has diverged. Some TV allow re-convergence through the menu screen, older sets my need to be physically adjusted (aimed) to clear this up. a strong knock to the TV may have cause this.
