Playing games I unable to install and play any game in Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

    I have the pc game Gothic 3 it downloads ok but when i,m ready for game play screen crashes and goes back to desktop ..is there anything i can download from microsoft to cure this prob please ?David...ps my vista is basic home edition

first of all go to your computer properties then click on it you will see some of the drivers wasn't install like control and game VGA drivers then just download and it will automatically will download the all games

is the game compatible for the vista? check back of game box it will say system requirements, if it is there could be something for the vista you dont have in order to play the game or the game itself is a bad one,
