Question about ASUS KGPE-D16 AMD Opteron Server Bd (KGPED16ASMB4IKVM)

1 Answer

No sound from ASUS D2X sound card

I can't get sound from my ASUS D2X sound card when installed on an ASUS KGPE-D16 motherboard. The drivers show as installed and the "this device is working properly" message in the W7x64 device manager shows up. However when I try to run the speaker test in the ASUS audio center the test hangs on the first (R-front) speaker. IO range: B800-F8FF, Interupt: 24 (32). Installed driver version is....7.12.8.1794 W7. OS is W7x64, 32G 1600 Kingston, EVGA 780 video, AMD 6328x2. The D2X worked fine in my other PC.

Try updating the firmware and then look for a more up to date driver

SOURCE: Recurring issue: KGPE-D16 opteron 2-CPU "USB

If its forcing a shutdown of the entire machine, I think it may be protecting itself from a voltage issue. What do you have plugged into your USB ports? It sounds like it has detected a voltage problem coming from one of the devices connected to one of its USB ports or something near it and to ensure that the motherboard doesn't get fried its shutting the computer down.

The message is telling you that its detected a device that is over the allowable amount of electrical current and is protecting itself from electrical failure. It could be a problem with the USB jumpers on the motherboard that connect the front usb ports. You might try unplugging these connectors and try to boot up the machine. Leave them unplugged and boot up the machine, if you still get the error after that, it may be a grounding issue with the motherboard mounts that anchor the motherboard to your computer case. If you have any extra mounts underneath the board that you aren't actually using but are coming in contact with the board, you may have to remove them, which would probably involve removing the motherboard from the case.

Onboard sound card not working (ASUS A7S333). I had a pci sound card and removed it to go back to the onboard sound.

You have to refresh your system by deleting the old sound card driver in the control panel or add/remove programs . Then restart the pc to detect the old onboard sound card driver. Then install the onboard sound card driver using the supported motherboard cd driver.

1. check the cable to the DVD or CD to the sound card it may not be connected properly.
2. remove the sound card from the motherboard and do "shutdown" then restart without the sound card.
3. Shutdown again reinstall the sound card and reinstall the drivers for the sound card.
4. check the the manufacturer website for any firmware upgrade drivers

Sound card dosen't work (it is soundmax)

you can get this driver. You might have to look a bit for it. The driver will come from Microsoft though, not from Asus. I have several ASUS motherboards running windows 7. In most cases if you go to the devide manager, right click the "missing driver" for HD audio, Windows 7 has usually gone out downloaded the file by itself. But if you have to look for it, go to the microsoft website and search for HD audio in their downloads section.

I not getting sound from my computer,I want to install M2V-MXSE ASUS. can u plz tell me where these sound drivers are available.......

either from the asus website, http://usa.asus.com/index.aspx ,or from Realtec, that is the hardware that asus normally uses on their motherboard. But just go to the asus site and click on the support and it will ask you the model number of the board that's it. You will see if there are any other downloads that came out for your board also. You should keep that link in your favorites. Here is the exact page for your board just download the driver here. thanks and dont forget to rate my answer, I appreciate it, thanks again,Gym
