Wont read dvd video discs

Hello there,

If your LG SecurDisc 20x Internal Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive w/LightScribe does not read disc, burn cds or dvd, then it means there is a problem with the lens of the LG SecurDisc 20x Internal Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive w/LightScribe.

You will have to replace the LG SecurDisc 20x Internal Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive w/LightScribe or have the lens replaced.

Be sure not to use the LG SecurDisc 20x Internal Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Super Multi Drive w/LightScribe to watch movies as that weakens the lens easily.

this might be because you have not selected the option to burn an audio dvd or your burning software does not support dvd burning
there are plenty of free burning software programs on the internet

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it
you might have to physically unplug the leads for this dvd drive then plug them back in this will activate found new hardware wizard

i put my install disk in now what do i do?

my LG SUPERMULTI DVD WRITER doesn't read SECURE DISCS .

maybe the iris is dirty, get a DVD cleaning kit and run it, a reinstall is unlikely to be the problem.It may also be a faulty Disc you have inserted have you tried others?

have you tried a cleaning disk?if not get some cleaning alchol wipe the disk leave a little on it not much,insert the disk ,this might clean the lense.

Can be several reasons
1. Disk is upside down
2. Lens is durty. Use CD/DVD cleaning disk
3. Disk is recorded in higher speed than your driver can read (for instance reading speed is 16, but disk is recorded on 24).
4. DVD drive is damaged or not connected properly.

I have an LG super multi burner that worked great on my older computer with windows xp, but i just moved it to my new computer with vista and it will not accept the software. the computer will read discs in the drive, but it will not burn, it acts as if there is not disc in it to burn. what can i do?
