Go to your electric circuit panel. Locate the breaker for the stove. Turn it all the way OFF then back ON. This should correct your problem.

Not sure how we solved the problem. Just kept unplugging it and turning breaker back on and off and on. After the third time, it worked. Embarrassing, huh! Kayewms

My whirlpool electric stove not turning on

Make sure it is plugged in and you have power to your house. If everything is dead check your fusebox for blown fuses if you have circuit breakers reset the breaker for the stove by turning it off then back on. If the burners on the top work, but the oven won't you probably have a burned out bake element .To change this turn off power to the stove and unplug remove 2 or 3 screws holding the bake element and remove the wires to the element by loosing the screws on the terminals note sometimes bake elements plug in in this case just unplug. Reverse process to install. Reapply power and test.

The inside oven is not heating. The top burners are working fine.

If this is an electric oven, most likely the oven bake element has burnt out.
the model and serial number should be behind the bottom drawer,
most elements are held in with (2) 1/4 inch socket hex head screws.

Remember to unplug stove or shut off breaker before servicing.
The element can be slid out usually, then unplugged or remove
the back cover behind stove and unplug it from the wiring harness.
I hope this is useful

My Tappan stove oven bottom heating element is not working. How do I fix it?

The element is probably bad. Remove element after unplugging stove and check with ohm meter. If you do not have one take element with you to parts store and they will check for you. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Tappan electric range, brand new - top heats up

Call the manufacturer and ask them what to do, they can advise you as to what to expect when unit operates and possible cause. Most ranges on broiler will have some heat transfer to top, but this sounds extreme

Burners and oven will not heat

Something is stopping the gas flow. Turn off gas. Disconnect line from the stove have someone turn on and off the the gas just for a second.(make sure no flame in room). See if gas is available. If not it is the gas line leading into the house somewhere, not the stove.  Follow the piping to the first thng it comes to. Disconnect that line and see if it is open from there back to the connection. If you finally get to the valve, which I dont think you will . You will have to disassemble  or replace it.

Tappan oven won't turn on after cleaning

I don't precisely understand...responding. I assume that if you say oven on that the oven isn't heating but the indicator controls are working. This has several possibilities. First, do turn your circuit breakers off then on...there are two linked together. This may reset something. If that fails, your problems are likely in either the high limit safety switch or the heating elements. The elements are more likely. To check them, turn off the power and remove them from the oven. This is usually by taking out one screw and unclipping the element. See if the element is bulged or damaged. If not, use a multitester to see if one of them is not conducting. Replace it. High limit should conduct fully. Use the curcuit diagram on the stove to determine its location.

Bake element t

I'm just guessing here...

Heating elements are high resistance. If the foil fell on the element near where it inserts into its socket it could have short circuited the element. If there's a fuse in the heating element wiring it could have blown. I could not find an electrical diagram for this stove so I don't know if it has a fuse or not.

Also, depending on the wiring your thermostat or selector switch may have been damaged. Does the broiler still work?

Let us know what you find.

Kenmore electric stove heating element how to replace

A replacement is usually around $40. There are usually 2 screws holding the element in the back of the stove. Turn off the power and remove the element. There are usually only 2 wires. It really doesn't matter which goes where. Install the new element and see if it will shut off when oven reachers temp. If it continues to heat, there is another piece that needs to be replaced. If there is a contactor or relay replace it, If not the thermostat needs to be replaced. Sometimes when the element burns out it shorts to the ground and fuses the contacts forcing the element to stay on. Sometimes you actually have to turn off the power to the stove.
