Message keeps coming on screen that air filter needs cleaning and will shut off in one minute.
I watched a you tube video and was able to clean the filter but mine is so old that it literally fell apart anyone know what I can get a new one?

Page 58 of the user manual says that after cleaning the filter when the power is turned on, you will be given the opportunity to reply "Yes" to the question "Did you clean the filter". I suggest you go through the motions of cleaning the filter again, removing the necessary parts. Then replace the parts, turn the power on, and watch carefully for the message "Did you clean the filter".

Soulvisitor has it right. I had the same problem and the stupid tv would shut off after 1 minute. We opened the silver front panel , took the bulb out cleaned it, took the cover off the grey box to the right and very carefully vaccumed the filter and wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. It works great now!!! Make sure you unplug your tv before messing with it. Thank you Soulvistor you saved us at least $100.00

Air Filter Cleaning for Panasonic PT-43LCX64 PT-50LCX64 PT-60LCX64
OK, I purchased the service manual which explains it pretty good. However it is pretty complex with about 45 screws to be removed so if your going to attempt it buy the manual (mine cost $14.99). There are 3 filters, one at the back and two at the front. Once the procedure is completed there is nothing else to do other than switch it on. There are no timers to reset in the software like some other models. So there must either be an airflow sensor or a temperature sensor. I'll look at the service manual in more depth when I have a chance.
I do have a request for someone. The filter at the rear was pretty clean as was the one on the top part of the projector assembly. The one at the bottom of the assembly was dirty. I think that it might be possible to clean the front filters far more easily. So if anyome wants to try it here is a possible solution.
Remove the front panel (silver). Undo the 2 screws on the cover of the projector housing (not the one that gives you access to the lamp. Remove the cover. Carefully vacuum the top dark grey foam filter on the left side of the pojector unit. Next vacuum the bottom of the unit. That's were the main and dirty filter was. You can't really get to it but I'm hoping you might just get enough off to get it working. The TV senses if its clean enough so there's nothing to loose by seeing if this shortcut works. Once the error comes back I will try it myself.
Good luck
