Intel D955Xcs wont boot sata hdd after bios upgrade

I upgraded my bios from the first release to the current and now windows XP pro SP2 with all updates starts its boot and after the start screen where it has windows XP and the moving bar below it disapears, the ssytem just reboots! It should also be noted that that new matrix storage technoligy driver was also installed right before the bios was updated in the windows environment without a reboot (ooops!) and it may also be part or all of the problem? I tried running setup for xp and it wants to format the NTFS partition saying it does not contain a valid windows format or ntfs format. I have 200+gigs of info on this drive witch is a 500gig sata 300 Samsung Drive. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

1:)Use the original windows xp and repair it!

2:) Check the ram

3:)If you can LOGG INN with SAFE MODE and log as ADMINISTRATOR and when u have logget inn go start + run + msconfig +enter +startup + DEALBE ALL + restart

4:)Replace WGA

5:)CLEAR CMOS

if all of those options wont work so :

TAKE THIS HDD AND PUT IN ANOTHER PC

GO TO THE COMPUTER MENAGMENT + DISK MENAGMENT MAKE THAT HDD AS PRIMARY AND ACTIVE AND PUT BACK TO THE ANOTHER PC!

IF U NOT GET HELP OF ALL THOSE TRY LIVE ASISTANCE WITH ME AND I WILL HELP TO FIX IT OK?

Cd rom door won't open, and it won't play

Reisntall system without service pack 2
Reintall devices not working.

Or uninstall drives reinstall sp2
then reinstall drives

Personally I would leave sp2 uninstalled
but if it is installed prior to the drives it
might recognize them (microsoft likes to be 1st)

If HDD makes shshshsh.... or spinning sound or generates heat, your HDD might be ok. Next Try with XP sp2 cd. If it again cant detect HDD, go to BIOS setting and watch if the HDD is showing it's status. If Bios can not detect HDD check HDD cable and power cable inserted in HDD. Replace them if needed. Format the HDD with another PC. If you still have problem replace HDD with new one. One thing you might use your corrupted HDD as a slave drive later, i hope.

Hdd upgrade problem

Try reversing the connections so the new drive is detected as the primary master.

Same problem in HP dv6040ca

Firstly, the system configuration is normally in management menu or similair on your programmes menu. If not you will find that the bios menu in most laptops are basic and normally the main settings are hidden; you will need to speak to HP Technical for assistance in that. There is no reason to not be able to upgrade to XP Pro; but with an upgrade you would need to keep your original XP Home installation, otherwise you will need to completely install XP Pro firsly using the format option when you insert the Windows disc. As with most laptops all programmes and drivers are usually on a seperate partition on your hardrive, so be aware you are going to lose all this when formatting, so back up all files and settings. You may also have restore discs, if this being the case all programmes and operating system will be on them, so no need to worry about losing anything from your hardrive apart from your documents. Why do you need to dissable SATA?
