Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P31 Digital Camera
The camera works in all respects (menu, setup, zoom, all menu manipulations, deletes images from the flashcard, etc.) except it will not take a picture or video when the shutter release is pressed. I suspect corroded contacts. How wouldl I clean them?
My digital camera displays this message across the screen... "Turn power off and then on again." It will not let me take any photos.. otherwise, I can do everything else... please help.

Actually, try manually turning off the flash and taking a picture. If the shutter works and takes a picture, then suspect that your flash is burned out. Unfortunately it's not a simple task to change a burned out flash tube.

I have the same problem and tried turning off the flash but my camera still won't take pictures yet everything else works fine.
