How to reset my scanner or put the codes? - Uniden BC60XLT Handheld Scanner

It has to be reset with a scanner , try the auto store, they have scanners to try. If they can't reset it they will tell you the code the car is putting out.

You need to put a scanner on the truck and read the codes that are set and once you determine the code has been repaired you can reset the computer from the scanner. You might also try to remove the battery cable and leave it off for awhile and see if that will do it but if you have a code set in the computer the light will come on again. Hope this helps.

If you have a scanner you should be able to use it to reset the code. But driving the car is correct. Most codes will reset themselves after 20 or 25 good starts. (Starts without the problem)

If the fault code doesn't reset the problem is not fixed. PERIOD.

Put in the correct key and put it on the scanner and do a reset.

The proper way to reset the DTC is using an OBDII scanner. Go to the nearest Autozone, ask to do a code scanning and to reset codes.

You can also reset the codes at home but you will need a scanner like this:OBDII Scanner - U480.

Here an example showing how to use a scanner tool to reset the codes.

You can also try disconnecting the battery. That will reset the engine check light until the problem occurs again. It may not clear stored diagnostic codes. Make sure that you have the stereo anti theft code if needed.

Check the bumper sensor it may have been depressed.

hi it depends on if it is a hard code which cant be done need scanner if it is just a code TRY the battery off half hour put it back on if does not work under the 2 front seats their is yellow plugs move them around it should turn off

check the gas cap you may need another one

if an out of band frequency is put in that channel you will get the Fr Err message as well, just put in a frequency within the scanners specs
