SOURCE: my maytag front loader will not drain water oe comes on the control panel

Hi, Take the outlet pipe, usually goes into a stand pipe, lay it down into a bowl and the water should empty, lift it up when the bowl is full, and if necessary repeat. If it does not empty, there could be a blockage in the pump, or the filter. Tom.

Need a little more information. Is the belt still in tact ? Is it weaving through the pulleys ? If it it then you need to check the idler pulley to see if it is worn. If the belt is broke then there are several steps that must be taken.

SOURCE: get into front panel on maytag atlantis top load washer

There are two retaining clips located a couple of inches from each end of the top edge of the front panel. The best way to find them is to use a flathead screwdriver to wedge a small crack so you can see the retaining clips with a flashlight. Once you're certain of the exact location, you just stick the screwdriver into the clip and it will release that side of the lid. Stick something into the space to keep that one from clamping back down and then do the other one. Prop the top of the machine open and look for the two retaining screws right around the same location as the retaining clips. They are I believe 1/4" machine screws. Just take those two out and the front panel should be able to pivot forward. You need to pivot it about 30 degrees toward you then lift it off the clips at the bottom.

Maytag Atlantis top loader washing machine won't spin out water. it spins but the water doesn't go out. it's only about 5 years old. help please!!!

The drain hose is plugged or kinked or the drain pump is not working. Check and clear the drain hose from any debris that might be causing the water not to be pumped out. After checking and clearing the drain hose and the water is still not pumped out of the washer, check the pump to see if the impeller is good or the pump needs to be replaced. Access to the pump requires the top cover and the front panel to be removed. Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

The top cover is attached to the front panel by two clips positioned at about 3 inches from the corners. Use a putty knife and insert the blade into the seam between the top cover and the front panel assembly at the position of the clips.

Push the putty knife blade against the clips, one side at a time while lifting the cover to disengage the clips. Lift the top cover off the front panel then remove the two screws securing the front panel to the upper front corner braces of the cabinet.

Lean the top edge of the front panel away from the cabinet and lift the panel to disengage its bottom from the base clips. Move the front panel away from the cabinet to access the pump.

Disconnect the pump inlet and outlet hoses from the pump then remove the three screws mounting the pump assembly to the base of the washer.

Slide the pump to the rear of the washer to disengage the belt from the pump pulley and pull the pump assembly out of the washer.

Clear the pump inlet and outlet hoses for any debris to ensure water is not blocked from being pumped out of the washer.

Check the impeller. Remove the four screws securing the pump housing to the pump base then lift the housing off the base. Clean the impeller and the pump housing; replace the pump assembly if the impeller is damaged.

To replace the pump, set the pump pulley into the base opening and put the belt on the pulley. Install the mounting screws while holding tension on the belt to keep it on the pulleys.

Connect the pump inlet and outlet hoses and secure it with the clamps.

Position the bottom of the front panel back into the base clips then secure the top to the upper front corner braces of the cabinet with the two securing screws.

Push the top cover down into position to the front panel to complete the procedure.

Note: For Maytag Atlantis MAV8000A, the pump assembly is part number 35-6465.

Trying to get the top up on maytag model #mdg7400aww. Need to get some nails out that was left in pocket & dryed. can you help.

For the model washer you have listed, there should be a a couple of retaining clips inside the front seam where the top panel meets the washer front. If you push a putty knife in the seam about 2 inches in from each side, you will be able to depress the retaining clips to release the top panel. With the retaining clips released, the top panel will open up exposing the mounting screws that hold the washer front in place. Remove the mounting screws and the entire washer front can be removed, giving you full access the washer interior. If you have any questions let me know. I hope this helps you.

How do I remove gravel underneath washer tub?

To access the washer:
  1. Use a putty knife about an inch wide.
  2. Push the putty knife on the sides to release the top panel and lid clips.
  3. Lift the top panel back towards the wall.
  4. Tape the lid so it does not fall back and chip.
  5. Remove the two 5/16 inch screws on the inside of the front panel. The top of the front panel will come towards you.
  6. Lift the front panel off the clips on the bottom and set aside.
  7. Pull the washer out from the wall and lift up the front to access the belt. Support it with a block of wood.

Water won't stop running washer runs over will not agitate

It sounds like the fill switch is either disconnected from the detection hose, or broken.

To open the machine, press the spring clips inward with a butter knife or putty knife, and lift up the top panel. You may need a flashlight to see where the clips are, but they are in the crevice between the top panel and the front panel, on the left and right sides. Once lifted you should find a thin hose that leads from the side of the barrel to the switch in the control panel. Pull it off the switch and blow into the hose to make sure that it isn't clogged. Put everything back together, and if it does it again, you need a new switch.

Need to know how to put shell back on washer

If this is a Whirlpool top-loader, follow these steps:

1. While looking down through the lid opening of the case, place the front lip of the machine case UNDER the washer frame and start leaning it back onto the frame. There are four small cleats that must fit into four slots on the case or the washer will vibrate. Make sure the frame is seated properly, lean forward from the front of the washer, grasp both sides of the rear panel and pull towards the case. The rear panel should be seated and flush with the casing before inserting the retaining clips.

2. Insert the brass-colored clips into the slot on the washer rear panel first, and then push straight down into the opening on the top of the washer with some force. If you have the case seated correctly, the clips will snap back in.

3. Make sure you plug the connector from the console back into the lid switch receptacle BEFORE you reassemble the console. This is easy to forget.

Let me know if you still have questions. I hope this helps you.

Drain pump broke on a MAV 5000 AW

To remove the front panel, take a putty knife and push it in the joint between the front and top panel close to the top corners ( both the left and right) . As you carefully push back, you'll be pushing back on the retainer clips that hold the top panel down.
This will get the top panel able to tip back, exposing the top screws to remove the front panel. Slide the front panel upward to release the lower retainers...
Should do it..

Maytag Dryer Mosel #MDE6700AZW

you will need to remove the front panel and the front bulk head. after that you will see that there are clips that need to be pushed down to hold the fabric (felt) down. You need to make sure that the felt isn't torn. If it isn't torn then all you need to do is take a flat head screw driver pry the clips up and put the felt back on and push the clips back down

Leaking

You will need to determine where the leak is coming from, you will need to remove the front panel to investigate, using a flat blade insert between the joint on the top and front panel approx 4" in from each side to release the clips, the top cover will now lift and hinge at the back. Remove two front panel screws, which are now accessible and remove the front panel by lifting off the bottom clips.
You should now be able to see where the leak is coming from and repair as necessary. If you put the top down you can run the machine without the front panel.
The sqeeking could be a wet drive belt.
