DPR-1040 does not connet wirelessly

I have a D-Link DPR-1040 printer server. Wired to the router it works fine and the server + printer shows on the DS-Link PS-Link window. When I select the wireless router to connect to, it goes well (router + security + password) but in the status window it shows 'not connected'. What to do ?

dpr-1260 searching for ap and connected keeps changing back and forth when I refresh. On dpr-1260 if status of wireless keeps changing from searching and connected, change wireless to WPA, instead of WPA2. even if you have WPA2 setup (as I did), if you choose WPA it will stay connected.

D-Link DPR 140 doesn't work with Windows 8?

Hello,

Windows 8 is still new and there are some companies like D-Link which might not have the firmware for their products which are compatible with Windows 8 yet. I tried searching for a firmware for your product and I can't find one.

I suggest that you contact D-Link regarding this issue, they should have the fix for this and I'm sure that a lot of people are experiencing this same issue. This happens when new operating system are produced in the market. http://www.dlink.com.au/corporate/contact/

I also suggest that you install RadarSync in your computer. It's a technician's software. What it does is it automatically updates all outdated drivers in your computer. It works great with Windows 7 and Windows 8.

I hope this helps!

Have a dlink print server dpr1040 and dlink wireless router how do i print wireless

DPR-1040 information - http://www.dlink.com.au/products/?pid=777

All of this is from the manual located at link above under the resources tab.

Wireless Setup

WPS (Push Button Configuration)
WPS simplifies the process of connecting to a wireless network to a touch of a button. To use WPS you must have a WPS compatible wireless router,if you do not then you will need to manually configure the wireless connection in the web configurator (see Web Configurator below).

1. After following the hardware installation steps in section 3, ensure your wireless network is operating normally. When ready, press the WPS button located on the side of the DPR-1040. The blue LED should start flashing repeatedly.

2. Within 120 seconds, press the WPS button located on the wireless router you will be connecting to. This button may also be located in the router's web configuration pages labeled "Push Button Configuration (PBC)".

3. If successful, a wireless connection will be established between the two devices.
This connection is secure and uses automatically generated encryption keys; you do not need to remember them.

Note: If you experience problems connecting to a device, please try again. If you still experience problems, the device you're connecting to may be incompatible with the DPR-1040. Also, make sure you are connecting to a router or access point (AP).

Web Configurator

1. After following the hardware installation steps in section 3, ensure your wireless network is operating normally. When ready, type the IP address of the DPR-1040 into your browser, the default IP address is 192.168.0.10. If this does not work, use the PS-Link utility to find out the IP address.

2. Upon accessing the web configurator, click Setup > Wireless Setup.

3. On the next screen, enter the wireless network settings as provided by your network administrator.

4. Click Apply Settings, the DPR-1040 will restart and the wireless setup is complete.

Note: If your wireless connection does not work, check that you have entered the correct network settings into the Wireless Setup screen.

Can not install

Chapter 3 - Configuration
This section will show you how to configure your new D-Link wireless print server using the web-based configuration
utility.
Web-based Configuration Utility
The IP address of your print server will be automatically assigned by your router.
To access the print server’s web-based configuration interface:
Windows® XP users:
Double-click on the My Network Places icon on your desktop. Your print server will be displayed as “DPR-1260:
dlinkps-xxxxxx” (where xxxxxx is the last 6 characters of your print server’s MAC address). If you do not see the print
server or have UPnP enabled, please refer to page 13.
Windows® 2000 users:
You will need to write down the MAC address located on the bottom of the print server (E.G. 00-54-23-45-f5-b6). Open
a web browser and enter the following:
http://dlinkps-XXXXXX
XXXXXX = the last six characters of your MAC address.
Note: Some printer software features may not work
while connected to the print server such as ink level display.

This will prove the print server is working. If you can not access the web interface then it may not be getting an address from the router

Have router and want to add my 3in1 printer to my laptop,

You will have to add a print server to your printer. The best one for your router and printer would be the D-Link RangeBooster G™ Multifunction Print Server (DPR-1260)

DPR-1260 ... prints but cannot access web config page

To get into the web configuration you need to know your firmware on the DPR-1260. If it is 1.12, us http://dlinkps-xxxxxx where the X's are the last 6 number of the mac address. If it is 1.20 and up, use http://dlink-xxxxxx, where the x's are the last 6 number of the mac address. If you do set it up as DHCP or static and know the ip address of the print server just type in the ip address of the print server on the address bar.
