Hello!
We repair these A LOT! The jack is unbalanced on the Main Board and is easily detached by normal wear and tear. Soldering the jack back on to the board is a little tricky but the real repair is getting the port sturdy to prevent the issue from re-occurring.
We do a full repair by removing the old solder on the board and the jack then reattach using flux and fresh solder. We also stabilize the port so it doesn't happen again.
You can send it from anywhere in the US and we'll repair it for $39.95 which includes return shipping. I strongly recommend replacing the micro usb / charging port for an additional 9.95

SOURCE: kindle fire screen is blank

Try doing a hard reset of your Kindle Fire as advised on the Kindle Fire Support web site for dealing with Screen problems

If you still have a problem after doing the above, then you follow the additional steps advised on the above web page, i.e. ensure the Kindle Fire is fully charged (the power indicator has changed from Orange to Green) and that you have the latest Software Updates installed (assuming you can view the screen to do so!).

Won't take a charge.

Armend, Could be a bad charging port. Press and hold on button for 15-20 seconds a couple times to see if it will reset and power up before trying anything else. Check the attached links, videos, instruction and guides on kindle charging problems. Good luck

My kindle 7HD worked for a couple of weeks, but now it won't charge or turn on. what do I do?

You probably broke the USB connector that is used to charge your kindle.
You could take it to a repair shop and see if it can be replaced.

Kindle fire has no life at all. won't turn on or charge, also did the 50 second power button trick n nothing

There is a possibility that the charging port is damaged.
This is a common issue with Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire hd.
When charging the Kindle is the cord is forced or bent to the side it may cause the charging port to detach from the logic board.
The repair for this issue is soldering the part back in place.

Kindle fire won't charge

You may need a new power cord or it is possible that your Kindle Fire's battery has died. If you noticed the battery life diminishing before it wouldn't charge this may be the case. Here is a site that has replacement batteries for the Kindle Fire:

My Kindle Fire will not start

If you last charged it with the computer USB port, try charging with the supplied AC adapter instead. If you last charged with the computer USB port, try charging with the AC adapter this time. This will help isolate a bad AC adapter / power cord or USB cable / USB port.

It is important to note that if you are charging your Kindle via USB port on a computer, when many computer enters "sleep mode" the USB power is shut off at this time too. Charging is effectively halted - even though still connected. You should only expect to charge while the computer is active or when using the AC adapter.

You can also purchase an aftermarket DC charger. These are small plugs that are inserted into your auto's port or cigar lighter. They provide 1 or 2 USB connectors to plug in a USB cable. These devices are suitable to supply / charge just about any devices that uses a computer's USB port to power / charge a device. They cost anywhere from $5 and up and look something like this:

I hope this helps and good luck!
