Does it start to work if you move around the charer plug? if so you definitely have a broken usb port. You should always try to replace a broken part yourself first. search model name plus "repair guide" on any search engine.They will show details about about part replacement etc. in detail. There are other websites that sell all the replacement parts, one of the bigger ones is http://portatronics.com (646) 797 2838. Then for the repair itself you can venture to do it yourself, or better ask a friend who has done a similar repair before.

Try a different battery. If that doesnt work, it may be your charger port. Take an old tooth brush, turn off the phone spray alcahol on the toothbrush, and scrub the port on the phone. If that fails your charger port needs to be replaced. Check with your provider about the warranty. If its not under warranty, check my profile and we can help you for sure.

The I9 battery charger is th problem. There is a small tab on the bottom edge of the batery that allow it to clip in the phone. This tab prevents the battery from going all the way into the charger which causes a missalignment with the contacts and due to the contacts being very thin they tend to break off. If this happens you must use the USB cable to charge the phone, it plugs in under the charger. If your contacts are good you can take a thin knife and ease the tab over the edge of the plastic lip on the charger alowing the battery to seat correctly in the charger making the proper connection.

This seems to be a common problem for the env2. If you hold your charger a certain way in the phone does it charger? Is the charger port broken or damaged?
If so the easiest workaround is to get an external battery charger and extra battery to charge the phone.

There are two ways: since Motorola phones use mini-usb, you can connect it directly to your pc via a mini-usb cable- it should charge that way. The other way is to get a new motorola branded charger- they run about 10-15 dollars at your local big-box retailer. If it still does not charge with known-good cable or known-good charger, then the hardware in the phone has faulted and you will need to go to your carrier and ask for a safety-related replacement (electrical issues = safety issues in my book!)
