Many of the Maytags have had a problem with the pump bearing. This is what it sounds like. Tilt the washer back. Look underneath and take the belt off. The pulley on the pump is metal. try turning with your hand both ways. If it grinds that is problem. Let me know if need more info.

Cycle stops at 12 minutes remaining in all cycles. Sounds like a grinding noise in unit. Then machine stops with Water remaining in drum. No blocks in pump. I run spin only to empty water. E11 code

Thanks for your post, Daniel!

Based off the information you have provided the cycles inside of your Frigidaire washer will stop at 12 minutes and making a grinding noise. I also see that you receive an E11 error code and that stands for a long fill time. I would recommend checking over the hoses to assure they are installed properly and not restricted. You may have an issue with your drain pump, motor, or water valve. I would recommend performing a reset on your washer and you can do that by disconnecting power from it for at least ten minutes. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

How do i repair a lg washer that makes a grinding noise when slowing down from spin cycle

It sounds as if the tub bearing on your machine is faulty. To replace this bearing one needs to basically strip down the entire machine.
Not a job for a novice.

Whirlpool washer dryer has been making a grinding noise for a while and now won't drain

Hi.

The grinding noise was probably being caused by objects stuck in the drain filter. Disconnect power and check the drain filter. On Whirlpool front loaders the filter is accessed from the front of the machine. You will need to unscrew the filter cap and to remove blockage With top loaders the access is underneath or at the back. You lean the appliance on one side and disconnect the hose directly connected to the pump. Disconnect power before starting maintenance.

Here a page about drain/spin problem.

If you need parts see this tip explaining how to find parts and diagrams for most appliances: Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

I heard a noise that sounded like it was grinding marbles and now it will not work and there is water in the washer.

Peggy,
“”I heard a noise that sounded like it was grinding marbles and now it will not work and there is water in the washer.””
With the washer not working do you have an error code to the LED display? Can expand on the washer not working?
Do you here the grinding noise in wash/agitate cycle when the tumblers are turning?
If so you need to remove the tumblers and see if there are any coins under the tumblers. See page 37 of the Service Manual.
The SM doesn’t call out the torx driver size required for tumbler removal it’s a #20 torx driver.
You can enter into Service Mode and empty the wash water with this process.
To pump out the excess tub water;
I would go to page 16 of the SM lower right hand part of page, Board Output Test and turn on the drain pump in service mode to pump out the tub.
Enter Service Mode by simultaneously pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”
Pressing the Delicates key will lock the lid. Now press the Presoak key the drain pump will turn on. Stop with off button or hit the Presoak key.

Loud grinding motor protesting humming w/no spinning or agitating

The drum/agitator bearings are bad I believe, or the gearbox has been damaged. This is an expensive repair. I would strongly consider buying a new washer. This is a great time to buy appliances since the stores are really competing, and the prices are at their lowest.

Frigidaire front washer has power but won't fill up, drain or go through correct cycles

You'll very likely have something caught in your drain pump. First set the washer to drain and spin. If you hear a hum or grinding noise and the water in the tub isn't draining or it's draining slowly you have something in the pump. If you take the rear panel off you'll reveal the drain pump at the right front corner or maybe middle on this model. if you empty all the water from your machine you can take off the spring clamp (this can be tricky) attaching the thick rubber hose from your tub to your drain pump. (you may want to have some old towels ready) With this off you can feel around for what's blocking the drain pump's impeller. You may want to take the screws out that secure the drain pump to the base and the other spring clamp that attaches the drain hose to the drain pump. Good luck!

Grinding noise when washer starts some spin cycles, washer stoped and game my wife a f-33 reading. whirlpool told me to unplug(reset) the washer for 30 mins. i did this and the washer still has the...

hi there,

the grinding noise may be coming from either the pump or you have something caught between the drums.

the f-33 error is the pump drive system error. it indicates that you have lost communication between the CCU board and the pump. the CCU board is the main control board that you see in the front of your washer.

i would recommend that you call a technician to check it out, as you will have to do some checks that require technical knowledge.
