My Cub Cadet 2135 PTO won't engage.

I was finished mowing and shut the deck switch off and when I went to re-engage the blades nothing happened

I have checked the leads to the switch and they are on. Belts are on and tight. I will check the fuse. Thank you for the response

    Have you:
A: Made sure belts are engaged and are tight?

B: Looked under the panel where the PTO switch is located and made sure the plug hasn't dropped off the switch? (it happens!)

    C: Checked the PTO fuse?

Blades continue to turn whether PTO switch is engaged or disengaged. Replaced switch, still happens

I had the same thing happen
found that the on/off switch had come unplugged from the wire harness just below the switch
had to attach the wires to something underneath so the weight did not pull the wires down and taped the two switches together to prevent it from pulling apart
it needs some kind of clip to hold them together
hope that this works for you

These mowers are riddled with safety switches. i would lean toward one of them malfunctioning. is the battery charged up? a weak battery will not engage the electro magnet.

Blades won't engage?

It's most likely the deck clutch that has failed. Usually above the deck but linked to the pulley is a PTO clutch on the drive shaft and these will wear out over time. Usually around $100+/- for the part and an afternoon of your time. Good luck!

Was mowing-blades just quit turning-pto will not engage

Belt has broken, or jumped off the pulley, or jumped off the belt tensioner. Look at your deck and go from there. You may have to remove your deck to get to the belts under there cvers but you will see your problem.

Hi...I have a 2005 Cub Cadet 2042. With the switch in ''normal'' and the PTO engaged, when going forward cutting the grass the PTO will disengage for no apparent reason. You have to push the PTO knob in...

In the cub cadet, the PTO power is maintained via a latching circuit that includes a reverse switch and a reverse relay. Locate the reverse switch that senses whether the tractor is in reverse -- either it's come loose, become misadjusted, or it's failed, or the wiring and connections are loose. You could bypass the switch to confirm this as the problem.

My Cub Cadet i1042 tractor shuts off when the blade is engaged. This happened after I ran over a ***** and/or stump. Every time I try to engage the blade the engine shuts off.

Check for bent blade against deck housing.Possible you bent something on mowing deck, check all spindles and pulleys. You could have something hung on blade and making contact with deck. Rarely will the motor be hurt from hitting object on rider.

The pto on my cub cadet 1515 cuts off. It will

Mine does the same thing. I've found that normally this is a heat-related problem and by removing all the clippings from the deck the blades will re-engage just fine until (unless) the clippings mount up again. Hope this helps; I make sure the deck is clean top and bottom before I mow.

The electric clutch on my cub cadet lt1045 does not stay running

I had the exact same issue early this mowing season on a LT1045 with 184 hours on it. On a wild hunch I lifted the seat and simply sprayed the PTO shut-off safety switch with electronic contact cleaner/enhancer and have had to problems since.

Cub cadet Z Force 48 inch zero turn blades won't engage

I hope this will help you...under the side panels on each side of the mower, there are "reverse lockout safety switches", they are supposed to stop the blades when both handles are pulled back. If one or both of the switches are out, the deck will not engage. Also, under the right side panel (when sitting on seat) there should be 3 relay switches, the one closest to the motor controls the PTO., if this is out, the PTO will not engage.
