i can not find the manual on this.
if the player will not be in use for a long period of time. Slide the FUNCTION SWITCH to "AUTO" or "OFF" position. COBY CR-A98.

CLOCK SETTING
1. To set hour, while holding the CLOCK button, press H TIME until
the desired hour is displayed. Then, release both buttons.
2. To set minute, while holding the CLOCK button, press TIME M
until the desired minute is displayed. Then, release both buttons.

I found my manual!

To set month, press the "set" button 2 times then press "mode" to sequence month
To set date, press the "set" button 3 times then press "mode" to sequence date
To set hour, press the "set" 4 button times then press "mode" to sequence hour. (24 hour clock toggles with 12 hour clock)
To set minutes, press the "set" button 5 times then press "mode" to sequence minutes.
