How to assemble train tracks - Discovery Kids 82-Piece Wooden Table Train Set

  • freddyfox Jan 20, 2014

Hi lynette rhea, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
The tracks just slot into one another rather like a jigsaw piece, I sense you mean something else?

check all track connectors(squeeze lose ones with a needle nosed pliers..check wire from transformer to the track..and during assembly, the track gets any dust on it, the wheels wont make proper contact for the engine to run..) as for the locomotive.. sometimes you can clean the motor brush comutator with a simple pencils' erasure by rotating the motor armature by hand(small as it is) to clean the pickups on this..it will better help to transferr the electric into the motor..sometimes on these track layouts, you need fine grit sandpaper to run across the top of the rails as the manufaturer puts a protective coating on these.. it wont carry power to your train..you can also use the backside of a butterknife drug around the layout a few times with the electric off.. it helps you feel any rough spots on the track/layout..

Imaginarium Mountain Rock Train Table assembly

None of these are for the Mountain Rock Train Table. Instead they are for other sets. I'm also looking for the Mountain Rock Train Table instructions. Not the Mountain Pass set. They are different.

I just built a model railway but my train will not run?

If your train is not running you should check the 6 following things:

1. Is the train sitting on the Track?

2. Check All Electrical Connections.

3. Clean Track and Wheels.
4. Check the Power Supply.
5. Check the train is working (try putting another train on the track)
6. Check the Track and Wires.

You should be able to locate the problem by doing the above checklist.

Why is the locomotive sparking while going on the track

The train gets it's power from the track. the spark, as long as it is small, is normal. it just means the wheels left the track for a second

My new lionel train slows down on far side of the track

There is bad contact in the track connections. You can sand the track connection sites. Another method is to run another power wire to the other end of the track where the train slows down. Even better is 3 or 4 evenly spaced power wires from the transformer to the track.

I have power to the track and the controller, but not the train.

I assume you have the Treetop Tender car on the track? The treetop tender is car that makes the electrical connection between the track and the train.

1. Use a volt meter across the track. You should have about 10.5VDC on the track (anywhere on the track)
2. Even without the Loco on the track, the Treetop Tender should light up if you have power to the track. If you have power and the tender does not light. Check the brushes located between the wheels on the tender. These are the motor brushes that pick up the current from the track for the train set. Make sure they are contacting the track.
3. Add the loco to the track and plug in the large black plug from the tender to the loco. Turn on the power and press forward. The train should start rolling.

Try all the functions, bells, ho ho ho, all aboard etc ..

Add one car at a time and make sure that each one lights up before moving on to the next.
