Question about Uniden DECT 6.0 Cordless Telephone Expansion Handset
I need to register Uniden 207 (waterproof) handset to Philips or other brand base. I have 3-brand mixed setup of different handsets, all DECT 6.0, all working together (except some advanced functions)without any problem. New Uniden ((4-th brand, same DECT 6.0) however refused to see my base. It does not ask for pin , just reports "registration failed". Is there anything I can do to to register it ? (I know procedure for each one, this is not the issue. It looks like Uniden locked to it's own brand base. If this is the case - can they legally mark it as DECT 6.0 compatible?) Thanks!
DECT 6.0 IS JUST A MARKET NAME FOR DIFFERENT BRANDS, THE WATERPROOF DWX207 WILL ONLY WORK WITH UNIDEN PHONES, ONLY BECAUSE YOU WANT THEM TO WORK TOGETHER DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL WORK TOGETHER...

Hey! I have the SAME exact handset. I HAD the same exact problem except this is what you NEED to do:
On the bottom on the handset, there are two "HOLES".
There's a smaller "rubberized" hole and to the right, a later "Double Layer" hole.
The a ball point pen and GENTLY push into the lager, "double layer" hole.
You will then hear a CLICK or a POP. THIS IS OKAY.
Your phone should now be placed on the charger for at least 25 hours prior to first use.
This procedure will ONLY need to be done ONCE.
This is necessary because the battery pack was factory installed by Uniden, therefore the installed battery is NOT "contacted" to the phone's circuit, yet.
WHEN YOU "CLICK" the SEAL w/ a BALL POINT PEN, you are "CLICKING A METAL CONTACT" inside the phone, which causes the battery to make contact with the phone.
After this, I AM SURE YOU WILL NOT have this problem again! :-)
HOPE THIS HELPS!!

I found the model no, on the Uniden website DSS 7805WP and down loaded the manual.. there were no instructions .. but i showed where the phone book icon was .. and once inside the phone book the process was the same as the handset that came with the answering machine.

On the base, open the menu and select Register Handset. The display should say Handset Registering.
On the handset you want to register, press and hold # until the handset display says Handset Registering (about 2 seconds).
DSL filterTelephone cordTelephone wall jack
In about 30 seconds, the handset display should say Registration Complete. Press Talk/fl ash and make sure you get a dial tone.
you don't hear a dial tone
the display says Registration Failed --
Making sure the handset is fully charged, then start over at step 1.

The only logical way is to get the additional handsets to communicate with the base. And to do that you must set them to the frequency of the base. You Use guide will tell you how to set the frequency n the handsets to talk to the base. They way you set the original ones.
BUT, I doubt if this will work. Why? Because if that was the case if you and I had the same company phones, then I would stand outside your home and set the same frequency on my handset and misuse your phone. A great security risk in today's world. But there is no harm trying it out. Just set the same frequency on the additional ones as the base. If it works, then you will have that many more intercoms too. And do let me know if it works.
