I have a similar laptop myself (acer aspire 3660wlmi) and my reccomendation would be to upgrade the RAM to the maximum you can (with me thats 2gb) it helps the perfomance a LOT (512mb worked ok but 2gb is much faster)

you can also adjust your graphics allocation in ATI Catlyst control centre (right click on the dekstop and click the ati option, or double click the icon on your taskbar at the right)

It is not usually possible to upgrade the graphics card on a laptop. as the graphics chips are on the motherboard. and they do not usually have a graphics card slot.

some (quite recent) laptops have a graphics express slot which does allow for them to be upgraded.

most often you find that laptop graphics chips share mem with the main RAM (allocated) this is controlled in the BIOS(Setup) and it may be possible to increase the allocation of memory there,

but I'm sorry to say for most laptops there is no upgrade (flexibility is traded for portability)

the 5002WLMI does not appear to have a grpahics express slot, however you may be able to increase the mem allocation in the BIOS (as it does use allocateable shared memory)

however you can get USB graphics output, but they would not be as good as the card that is already installed.

Acer Aspire 5002WLMi Laptop won't recognize full 320 Gigabytes of new PATA hard drive. It's always been running a 80 Gigabyte 4200 RPM but that drive is old...a 2005 HD. New WD320 only reads 137...

The BIOS in the ACER determines the maximum size of the hard drive it can support.
Check the laptop's specification to see the max size you can install in this model laptop.
It appears that the max size your laptop can support is 140 Gb (unformatted). 137Gb formatted.

I suggest you install a hard drive up to 140 Gb capacity in your laptop and place the 320 Gb hard drive in an USB hard drive adapter case and when you attach this hard drive to the USB port in your ACER laptop then you will be able to get the full 320 Gb capacity after you delete the partition and create a 320 Gb partition and format the hard drive.

How do you put a memory card into the acer laptop ,to add pictures directly off of the card onto the computer ?

Installed the Card Reader Driver first,Put your SD momory Card in the adapter and insert in the card reader slot. Browse now as if you brwose when you insert pen drive.

Otherwise,Get a USB Memory Card Reader Pen Drive. No need to installed driver or adapter.

My wireless is gone, and does not show up in device manager

If your wireless adapter is not appearing in Device manager open the cover on the bottom of the lap top and make sure the wireless card is properly connected, next look for an external switch that might have been accidentally turned off. If everything is good then you may want to try a new wireless card for the PCMCIA Slot.

Acer Aspire 5002wlmi Monitor

You first should check to make sure it's the LCD and not the video/motherboard. However possible, hook the laptop up to an external monitor (flat panel or CRT, either one will work). If the problem doesn't present on the external monitor, you have a bad LCD.

If the problem persists even on the external, you have a video/motherboard problem. Since most laptops have integrated video, the motherboard will most likely be your culprit.

Hope this helps :)
