SOURCE: Error message: Can not record on this disk???

In many devices, DVD-R and/or DVD-RW discs do not work. You must use DVD+R or DVD+RW discs. Good luck!

SOURCE: disc error "playback feature may not be available on this disc"

Hello arnita2211,

This error message is due to an improper format, that your dvd player can't handle. To correct this you need to use a program such as nero and in nero is a program called nero vision, that will recode the movie file into a dvd playable format.

You can download a trial of nero here
http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-nero9-trial.php
You will have to purchase a license when the trial ends. Sorry we cannot give you a serial key for this as it is Illegal.

Thank you for trying Fixya!

When you try to play a DVD game on Xbox 360 it tries to play as a movie?

c on your Xbox 360 console, you may receive an error message. This article presents step-by-step guidance to help you determine whether your disc is playable.
SYMPTOMS When you try to play a disc, you may receive the following error message: Can’t read this DVD.
CAUSE The DVD or game disc may be dirty or damaged. Because the console cannot read the disc well, it may even mistake a game disc for a DVD and report this error. If this problem occurs with multiple discs, even clean and undamaged discs, there may be a problem with your Xbox 360 console.
Note If you receive a different error message, such as one of the following messages, the problem is a different problem:
Error message 1 Can't play DVD. Wrong region code. Error message 2 Can’t play DVD. Family settings restrict playback of this DVD. If you receive one of these error messages, see the corresponding Knowledge Base article: 907620 While attempting to play a standard DVD movie using your Xbox 360 console, you receive the error message: "Can't play DVD. Wrong region code" 908645 While attempting to play a DVD movie using your Xbox 360 console, you receive the error message: "Can’t play DVD. Family settings restrict playback of this DVD"
THINGS TO TRY Here are some things that you can do to try to fix the problem or to determine what caused it.
Determine whether the disc is dirty or damaged Discs that are smudged, scratched, or otherwise damaged cannot be read by the Xbox 360 console. You will want to examine the disc to see whether it has smudges, scratches, or other damage. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Examine the disc for dirt or damage: a. Pick up the disc by its edges. Do not touch the top or bottom surface. b. Examine the shiny side of the disc to make sure that the disc is clean and has no damage.
NoteScratches that follow the curve of the disc are very damaging and prevent a disc from being read. If your disc has even one of these kinds of scratches, the disc is damaged, and you will no longer be able to play it. If this is the case, see step 4. 2. If the disc is dirty, clean the disc by hand: • Use a soft, clean, dry, chemical-free cloth to clean the disc. • Lightly wipe from the center of the disc outward. 3. After you clean the disc, try to load it in the Xbox 360 console. If the disc still will not load or you receive the same error message, the disc is damaged, and you will no longer be able to play it. If this is the case, see step 4. 4. If the disc is damaged, do one of the following: • Because DVD discs are not game discs and the disc was damaged because of misuse of some type, such as not storing the disc in its case, the only thing that you can do is buy a new one. • If you feel that the disc was damaged by the Xbox 360 console in some way, please contact Xbox Customer Support. Portable dvd player when you put disc in machine it comes up with wrong disc display on screen is it the settings

It would more likely be the types of discs used. They are either of a region code not compatible with the player, contain foreign/unknown data, or they are unsupported formats. For example, if the player supports DVD-R playback, and you put a DVD-RW in, the player will generate 'wrong disc' message if the player cannot recognise the disc or the contents on it.

The disc formats/types that can be played should be outlined either on the unit itself or in the instruction manual (if you still have it). If the player shows that message even with genuine shop-bought DVDs then there is a defect within the unit, workshop attention may be required to fix it, but it could be costly.

'WRONG DISC' usually means the disc inserted is of a different region code to the player, or the wrong format (DVD-RW instead of DVD-R as exampled above). Try using different discs before going any further.

I amin india and i bought a xbox 360. my xbox i can play pirated disc. However for some games i am getting the message disc code is incorrect for this region. what should i do to make those disc...

Your Xbox region code has to match the region code on the video games. Figure out your xbox's country of origin and then only buy games that come from that region. If you are trying to play pirated discs and getting that error message, than they obviously were not pirated correctly.

SOME OF ME DVD'S WON'T DISPLAY A PICTURE AND SOME WILL

Make sure that the disc you are using are region 1. To check the disc region, look on the spine of the dvd. It should say NTSC region one. You can also download software to change the firmwar of the player to region free. Or your player may already have the capability built in. Go into your menu and check for region settings. If it has them, it should be set to "one" Se it to all regions and it will play any region disc.
