SOURCE: Denon AVR-887 and Wii

I'm dealing with the very same frustration. Best I can tell, the problem with my setup is that this model (avr-887) can't pass component video input out through HDMI. Can anyone confirm that?
Prior to setting up the Wii, I'd only been using a single HDMI output from the denon to my tv/monitor.
The only solution I've found is to add a component video output to the monitor -- which is unfortunate. I'd much rather have only the single HDMI out.
Would love to hear if there is a way to set this up without having to add the additional component output...

SOURCE: How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI

The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.

SOURCE: Flickering video with Denon AVR 1910

I had the same issue with my Denon AVR-1908.....It turned out to be the cable box, not the receiver. I would suggest you unplug your cable box, remove and reseat the cable card,HDMI cables, and finally the cable line itself. Make sure the wires are not frayed or otherwise pinched.

Good luck....

SOURCE: Unable to play pandora on Denon 1912

Check the Denon website. There is a notice for Pandora users. Pandora changed something and Denon products are blocked as of 11/30. They state that they are working on a fix and to check back after 12/6 for the update.

How do I connect my blue ray DVD player to the Denon AVR-1705-685 receiver?

This will depend on the Blue ray player and other equipment. For a direct connection to the receiver, if your player has either type of digital audio output (coaxial or optical), get the appropriate cables. Then connect the chosen cable between the Blue ray player and the receiver. Connect the Blue ray player to the TV with an HDMI cable. See page 10 of the manual, available at http://pdfstream.manualsonline.com/6/69f43064-f593-49b8-8d4a-23174b496e65.pdf , to see the connections for the audio sources. (I'll assume your Blue ray player doesn't have component video out or you would use the component audio to the receiver.)

If your player doesn't have a digital audio output, check your TV audio output. You can get the same result by sending the videos via HDMI to the TV and using the TV audio out to the receiver. Set the audio source to TV and leave it there for both TV and Blue ray and DVD videos. (Sometimes there could be a slight delay in the audio compared with the video signal when you do this. I've never noticed it with my Blue ray player signal going to the TV and the TV digital audio out to the Denon receiver.)

If you can't send the audio out to the receiver from either your Blue ray player or TV, then you will need some sort of HDMI audio extractor. You can find models with Analog Audio Out, Digital Audio Out or both. ( https://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Extractor-Converter-JTDAT5CH/dp/B00BIQER0E lists units with both types of audio output. One models requires a 3.5 mm to RCA audio adapter.)

I hope this helps.

I'm buying a 1080p blue ray disk player. I have this receiver, will it support 1080p? Thanks: Denon avr-4802.

Hi - If you mean can you run/switch a 1080P video source through the receiver, then the answer is no. It can only switch through the video component connectors on the receiver (1080i) but it's not a problem you can just connect your new BR player directly into the TV (HDMI) and have the audio handled by the receiver. It's a common setup and you're not really losing anything. It's the setup I have.
Enjoy your new great BR experience!!

Selecting a Blu-Ray Player

If Denon blu ray has coaxial or optical out for audio, then your Denon receiver will process this signal and will give you 7.1 out sound.

No video

The Denon does not down scale you can not plug a DVD or other device in to the Denon using HDMI and have it come out Component, if your projector only has Component video inputs you must use Component video connections from the DVD and Cable box to the Denon

Lost picture on my AVR-2807

There is a video select button on the receiver. Press it and it toggles through all of the video sources. Keep pressing it until the display says video=source.
