SOURCE: washing machine not spinning AW1000W

Could be that the drive belt has broken or come off. Empty machine of washing and water, UNPLUG! turn on its side and look underneath to see of the belt is still located on the motor pulley.

SOURCE: machine will fill and turn slowly but will not

Check motor capacitor first.Try moving the drum and see there is no extra friction. If your washer has got braking mechanism check the brakes also. ( I have no idea about this model regarding break)

Machine fills, then on entering wash cycle makes loud grinding noise kinda like a dull hacksaw on rusty metal.

Does it make the sound when you turn the drum by hand? It could well be the drum bearings that have gone.

XL7 has a clicking scraping noise on drivers side in reverse only. Have checked brakes and they look ok. When I put on jacks with the hub off and turn by hand I can still hear the clicking grinding

Where is the noise? Front or back? At the brake or differential? Usually grinding and clicking is the rear brake drums. Brake shoes/hardware. Year, make, and model?

Spin - loud noise - switched off - drum wont turn

I'm just hazarding a guess here, but it sounds like the bearings have gone (if you try to turn the drum by hand and it sounds noisy and grinding/crunchy then I think it would be the bearings). I'm certainly no expert though.

When i turn power button on ,it sounds like grinding metal ,very loud vibrating noise.

sounds like the bearings. make sure machine is off open door put your hand at the front of the drum at the top then see if you can lift it up and down if there is alot of movement it will most likely be the bearings,or try turning the drum by hand to see if you can feel any vibration or hear any grinding noise.

It has been making banging noises and the drum is sqeaking.the wash programme stops mid cycle we have drained it and cleaned the filter, it is a bit better but is still not working properley.

  1. Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
  2. check out this following options one by one to locate the fault in your machine.
  3. 1)Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.2)Turn the drum by hand and listen for loud noises. If the drum itself is split or the 'spider' is corroded, broken or has come apart from the back of the drum it will create a loud noise on every turn of the drum. (When the bearings have gone bad, the noise is constant the entire time the drum is spinning.)3)Look for obvious dents and creases in the drum or look for coins or small objects stuck inside the tub underneath the drum when a horrendous noise is made while clothes are in the tub.4)Clear the water pump from obstructions like coins or small objects when a noise occurs while the washing machine is emptying water.5)Remove the sump hose and look for bra wires if you hear a light scraping noise when the drum is turned by hand. You can also check to make sure a wire isn't poking out of one of the holes in the drum. In this case, you can pull the wire out easily with pliers.6)Take the belt off and run the motor alone if you hear a high pitched squealing noise to check for motor bearing damage or wear. If you still hear the noise without the belt, it's the motor bearing.

Grinding niose towards rear of suburban when i coast. Does it every time coasting down hill or slowing to stop or turn. Echos through drive shaft at rear end.

GM rears are known for this noise it is usually caused by a pinion bearing that is coming apart or what they call bernelling ( I am not sure I spelled that correctly) it is little pits in the cones in the bearing it comes from lack of lubrication or the pinion seal leaking, you could pull the rear cover and drain the fluid into a dark pan and look for debris or alot of silver color.

Drum breaks on 2008 Kia Rio 5 make a grinding/clicking noise when stopping i took off the wheel and turned the drum by hand and you can hear and feel a slight grind at one point in the rotation. How do i...

There are a couple ways. Sometimes the drum will have threaded holes in it in which case you just turn a bolt through the thread slowly until the drum begins to seperate from the hub.
Otherwise you can pick up a puller from your local auto parts store for about $10-15.
Good luck

Loud noise when it spins

Sounds like main drum bearing noise, try turning the drum by hand, if it feels rough or you can hear it grinding or rumbling, then it is the the main bearings that have failed..
You will probably need to call an engineer.
