Need to recover deleted file from recorder

I deleted a recording and need to know if it can be recovered?

Sorry for a late reply but chances are high to recover your deleted files.

First things first: DO NOT take any more videos or audio with the recorder that you want to recover files from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of voice memo file recovery.

Then connect your device to a PC, and have a try of Photo Recovery (also recover audio, voice memos, video files etc), a data recovery program which is good at recovering media files lost. If you are Mac OS X users, turn to Data Recovery for Mac.

Lastly, I hope you good luck. Again you should remember - the more you use your recorder, the less likely you may be able to recover the deleted files back! So STOP using the device ASAP. Regards

Unfortunately this recorder model is designed with flash memory and once the files are erased they are gone. There are some companies that do specialize in flash memory recovery (Olympus is not one of them). You can go to google and search for flash memory recovery specialists. However this is a very costly process as it involves sending the device to these companies for them to do the recovery process.

Plunge this recorder to your computer and download a data recovery program to take chances.
There are many data recovery programs that could easily help restore the deleted files back from a storage device.
I would recommend you to try a deleted file recovery freeware that could work well on your recorder:

This freeware helped a lot when my important files were also mistakenly deleted from a digital camera. After that, I would directly use it to restore my file every time I face the data recovery problems. It never lets me down.

I deleted seven voice files off my Olympus DS-2300 and need them back! Can they be restored or retrieved?

Yes, those voice recordings can be recovered provided not overwritten(if you keep taken more records, then possible). The best way is to try some audio recovery software. Here are some for your option. Both programs can also recover videos and photos.

I deleted date from Olympus VN-4100PC

When the Digital Wave Player application copies the files to yourcomputer, the default location is under My Documents>Digital WavePlayer>Message. There, you will see FolderA, FolderB, etc. +Recording & Schedule folders.

If the files are not there, use a file recovery application, such as PhotoRec to recover the deleted files.
