Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

My range We purchasred a new Frigidiare range when we moved to our new home. According to the salesman we were buying top of the line, 5 burners, convection but after three years the enamel is just falling off the burner grates. Everytime I wip them off more enamel falls off. I am afraid that by the time we have had this range five years there will be no enamel on the burner grates at all. This range was over $900.00 I expected it to last many years - Do you have an answer to this problem?

The first thing I would do is call Frigidaire, should be a 1-800# in your manual and complain about the problem.  I had a customer today, in fact, that had a normal problem with his refrigerator.  It was from frigidaire, 3 yrs old, and they actually covered parts and labor 100%.  Some models, not sure if yours did, had a recall for this very problem and were replaced with grates that had a thicker coating.  Let me know how it turns out.  Would appreciate a solved rating for this advice unless you need further assistance.

These vehicles has problem both with instrument cluster (guage) and fuel sensor(floater) which is part of fuel pump: remove gas tank and move the floater and observe or use you scanner to see if instrument cluster gauge moves accordingly: My personal recommendation is buy a new pump on-line $106.00 and install new gauges as well: on line $120.00 or call me Alex-619-474-2550

Bruners not level, seem to be warped

Most burners on range tops have tabs on the bottom of them. Make sure the tabs line up and go into the drip trays that are under the burner. If you can't seem to get them level, try swapping them around, one by one to find the correct one.

Burners ignite but wont light

Are you on Natural Gas or LP?

If on LP, you may need to change the jets on the burners on top. Most times, when oven and broiler work and top doesn't, and you have spark, your jets are wrong size. Look on back of unit for a cardboard attached to unit, should have jets stuck to cardboard, if notgo to store where you bought unit and buy jets.

The two large burners will not turn on, it started with just the inner burner on the dual size (the switch showed it on but it did not heat) now neither front burner switch will turn on

you are going to have to buy a new burner part. if you are able to open the stove top and look closely at the element inside you should notice that somewhere along the lines of teeth, it has broken.

Burners on top will not light with the pilot lights

To Clean:
Before cleaning, make sure all controls are off and
the oven and cooktop are cool. Do not use oven cleaners, bleach
or rust removers.
1. Remove the burner cap from the burner base and clean
according to “General Cleaning” section.
2. Clean the gas tube opening with a damp cloth.
3. Clean clogged burner ports with a straight pin as shown. Do
not enlarge or distort the port. Do not use a wooden
toothpick. If the burner needs to be adjusted, contact a
trained repair specialist.
4. Replace the burner cap, making sure the alignment pins are
properly aligned with the burner cap.
5. Turn on the burner. If the burner does not light, check cap aligment.

Burners wont light up

I am sorry to inform you but this is the 2nd unit you have in that outlet and are having problems, I think you only have 110 volts at the unit...1/2 of the voltage needed. On a 220 volt line there are 2 lines of 110 volts and they BOTH must be present for all the features to work. With only 110 volt, the lights might come on and that would also explain why, when you turn on a burner the clock flashes. You are completing a circuit. Check your home wiring and repair it. Your range will function properly once your resolve the problem with your home supply line to the range.

Good Luck, Eric

Frigidiare electric range time bake and self cleaning

Not sure what brand of oven this is but there should be a tech sheet on the back of the oven or it may tell you in the owners manual what those codes mean. Might be a faulty oven temp. sensor for faulty wiring/connection to that sensor. If f3 means sensor on your unit and the wiring is ok then replace the sensor.

Kenmore Gas Range/Freestanding/ Electronic Ignition

I have an electronic ignition Kenmore Gas Range. The Model Number is 790.78573407.

Am getting the error code F93 in the oven control panel. The manual says the likely cause is "Maximum oven door lock time exceeded". When I plug the oven the "door lock light" flashes and then the "F93" error code flashes. Am not able to use the bake or broil.
