When you say ices up do you mean the line ices up back to the compressor. is water overflowing over sump tray? or is it dumping out drain? If you are not getting water over the evaporator plate then it will frost up the evaporator plat all the way back to the compressor.if the water is dumping into the drain during freeze cycle check the dump valve this will not let sump tray stay full of water. make sure water filter is good as this will not let sump tray stay full fast enough. is water pump pumping water over the evap plate?

Check the bridge size adjustment at the top of the metal grid that the ice forms on. This determines the size of the cubes. Whenever you make a repair on the water system, especially on an older unit. make sure the unit is clean. A little bit of calcium deposits (or that other nasty looking stuff) getting into the passage ways will make it run erratically, and can drive you nuts.

SOURCE: hello mate re mv450

Check the ice thickness sensor for mineral buildup and clean if necessary. I downloaded the service manual from a site in New Zealand. If the Ice thickness sensor is free of scale make sure you are NOT supplying the machine with soft water.

Let me know if this solves your problem. I have been servicing Scotsman Ice Machines for over 38 years in the US. I will try to assist you any way I can. This particular model is not sold in my country.

SOURCE: Scotsman ice machine is not making ice. There is

The manual has an exploded parts diagram use as guide to locate parts.
First check the timer, you can manually turn it through a cycle or watch it rotate on its own.
Check the water inlet solenoid valve. if all looks well and you have definite water flow past the valve, then
Check spray pump. You have to remove the rear panel. The pump has a fan on the top. spin the fan if it is at all tight the ;pump is bad.
I have owned 2 of these units and have had failures of all of the above parts over the years.

Clean the bin eyes found in the back of the ice machine where the shoot narrows. Look on the left and right sides of the unit, you will see plastic vanes that are pushed into rubber grommets. Just pull the eyes out and clean with ice machine cleaner.

I Have ice-O-Matic How to fix the ice machine if it only drops ice one and sometimes it'll drop Ice when you turn it back on and then off again.

If your Ice-O-Matic ice machine is only dropping ice intermittently or inconsistently, there are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the water supply: Ensure that the water supply to the ice machine is sufficient and that the water inlet valve is fully open. Inspect the water line for any kinks or blockages that could restrict water flow.
  2. Clean the condenser: A dirty condenser can affect the ice machine's performance. Clean the condenser coils using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove any dust or debris that may have accumulated.
  3. Check the water filter: If your ice machine is equipped with a water filter, check if it needs to be replaced or cleaned. A clogged or dirty water filter can hinder water flow and impact ice production.
  4. Inspect the harvest cycle: The ice machine's harvest cycle may be experiencing issues. Ensure that the harvest switch is functioning properly and that the control board is working correctly. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for instructions on troubleshooting the harvest cycle.
  5. Verify the ice thickness control: If the ice thickness control is not properly set, it may prevent ice from dropping consistently. Adjust the ice thickness control according to the manufacturer's instructions to ensure the correct ice thickness for dropping.
  6. Check for sensor issues: Ice machines often have sensors that monitor ice levels, temperature, or other parameters. Make sure these sensors are clean and functioning correctly. If a sensor is malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced.

Hoshizaki F-450maf has no water in reservoir tank

If the Hoshizaki F-450maf ice machine's reservoir tank has no water, you should first check that the machine is properly connected to a water supply and that the water supply valve is turned on. You should also check that the machine's water filter is clean and not clogged. Additionally, make sure that the float switch is functioning properly and that it is not stuck in the "off" position. If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consult the machine's manual or contact a professional for further assistance.

How do i fix Scotsman SCN60 float system

The float system in a Scotsman SCN60 ice maker is designed to prevent the machine from overfilling with water. The float is a buoyant device that rides on top of the water in the ice maker's reservoir. When the water level reaches a certain point, the float will activate a switch that stops the flow of water into the machine.
To fix the float system on a Scotsman SCN60 ice maker, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Unplug the ice maker from the power source.
  2. Locate the float system, which is typically located near the bottom of the ice maker's reservoir.
  3. Inspect the float and the switch for any signs of damage or wear. The float should move freely up and down and the switch should activate smoothly.
  4. Clean the float and the switch with a damp cloth.
  5. Make sure that the float is not stuck and that the switch is properly adjusted.
  6. Check the water level in the reservoir and make sure that it is not too high.
  7. Plug the ice maker back in and test the float system by adding water to the reservoir.
  8. If the float system is still not working correctly, it may be necessary to replace the float or the switch.
If you are not familiar with electrical appliances or if you are unsure of how to fix the float system, it is highly recommended to call a qualified technician to diagnose the issue and fix it.

I have a Scotsman SCN60 nugget icemaker and when I add cleaning solution to reservoir it just stays there

Hi, Are you using Scotsman ice machine cleaner? and are you using the right amount?
1. Open the door and turn the ice machine control knob to off.
2. Scoop out all the ice, discard it.
3. Pour 4 ounces of Scotsman ice machine cleaner into the ice machine reservoir.
4. Turn the ice machine control to on.
5. Allow the machine to operate for about 2 to 3 hours.
6. Pour hot water into the bin to melt the ice that has formed. That ice will likely be white and frosty looking.
7. Clean the bin liner of mineral scale by mixing some ice machine cleaner and hot water, and using that solution to scrub the scale off the liner.
8. Rinse the liner with hot water.
9. Sanitize the bin liner.
Now a dirty evaporator plate will not stop it from making ice it will cause it to hang up on the plate during harvest cycle if machine is not making ice good then there is something else wrong but when you clean the machine also make sure you clean the condenser coil and fan if this is dirty this will cause it to slow down on production of ice.

Ice machine is only making flakey size ice. Machine is clean and filters have been changed. Water is flowing and cold; it appears that the machine is in constant operation.

sounds like there is a problem with the water in the sump escaping. Sometimes, the plastic grate under the evap plates break and pieces get stuck in the dump valve. It is a triangular piece that the pump attaches to via a hose. It is spring loaded and the pieces prevent it from seating, thus, water leaks into the drain that you will not notice. When the water level in the sump gets low enough, it goes into a harvest and drops small slivers of ice. I'd check that out first.
Hope this helps.

Ice cube shape

hoshizakis make ice cubes depending on the amount of water in the sump. if you are starving for water the sump only partially fills in the fill time allowed . then it makes ice until the water is used up and the float switch drops and the cubes are little slices. you can adjust the size of cubes you want by raising or lowering the float assembley in the sump. if its to low the water rises and the float rises and tells the machine you happy with little slices. if you raise it up to max height you can max fill before float satisfies and max ice cubes. But if you are starving for water the time to fill will run out before the sump fills and cubes will be small no matter where you set the floats assembly. water starving can be due to crud in the water line, to small a water line, most hoshizes take a half inch line ,or a clogged water filter. if you suspect a filter take it out . if fill is drastically improved you need a new filter. be aware that starving for water on a hoshizaki will eventually lead to broken evap plates. big time expensive.good luck. i put in a new machine ruined by starving water and the new one made little chips of ice real quick. i finally pulled the filter out and voila! big cubes and great production.
