S-video setting on DVD not compatible with older TV

Someone set the 2026 DVD player to s-video. The TV is older and doesn't have an s-video input. The setup menu won't show up on the TV so I can change the setting from s-video. How do I do it? I also want to change the channel from 4 to 3. How do I do it?

I recommend the obvious solution which is to plug it into an S-Video compatible TV, VCR or DVD player then change your settings. You could make it really for yourself if you want by looking for some software that you burn onto a CD which you make bootable and when you run it in the player it resets everything to factory default settings. But seriously make it easy on yourself and just plug it into an S-Video compatible device (TV/VCR/DVD, preferably a TV for ease, though it doesn't make any real difference). Best of luck to you anyway!

My TV doesn't have S Video which is why my TV doesn't acknowledge that's it's connected anymore. I need to set mine back to the factory settings of YPbPr. I'm trying to do it using the setup menu which I can't see, but either I'm doing it wrong or my remote isn't acknowledging every button every press.

When playing a DVD, my Bose 3-2-1 DVD player's picture is not connecting to my Vizio Smart TV, only the sound.

  1. Make sure the video cables are properly connected. The cables that connect the DVD player to the TV should be securely plugged into the correct ports on each device. Double-check that the cables are not loose or damaged.
  2. Check the input source on your TV. Make sure the TV is set to the correct input source that the DVD player is connected to. For example, if the DVD player is connected to HDMI 1, then the TV should be set to HDMI 1 as well.
  3. Check the TV's settings. Some TVs have a "picture in picture" or "picture by picture" feature that may be turned on, preventing the main picture from showing.
  4. Check the DVD player's settings. Some DVD players have a setting that controls the aspect ratio of the picture. Make sure this is set correctly for your TV.
  5. Check the TV and DVD player compatibility. Some TV's are not compatible with older DVD players and this could be the reason for the lack of picture.

Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

I have a converter box and a dvd player hooked up to an older sanyo tv. How do I get my pic to show from the dvd to the tv.

The DVD most likely has to be connected to a audio/video input on the set--once hooked you have to be able to switch the TV set to that input with either a input button on the set or with the original remote.

Hitachi57projection tv when dvd is hooked up, have sound and no picture.

check the connection if it was in proper video component input in your tv unit, try other video input if still picture doesn't appear on the screen, make sure you have the right settings with in your tv set. then the connector from dvd player is properly connected to the component video out jack.

Can't find a coaxial connection on sungale dvd-2026 player

The only DVD players that have coaxial inputs and outputs are Combo Sets with a tuner built in.
If, for instance your DVD player were a combo VCR/DVD player, your VCR would have a tuner built in with it.

Trying to hook up an emerson dvd player to tv and its not working? older tv it has no cable hook up or control box for channel set up, shouldnt the dvd player still be able to work though?

IM GUESSING THIS MIGHT BE AN RCA TELEVISION? if you dont have an rca in hook up on the tv give up and buy a new tv or you can find an older item what it is is a switch that has an rca input and a coax output it was used to hook up the older video game systems it is still sold in most stores and that will work if you do have rca inputs and lost the remote you need to get a universal remote to switch the input on certain older rca tv's you could go to channel 00 and it would set it to the input with the switch you shoudl be able to use it by putting the tv on channel 3

DVD and older magnavox TV

On most of the older sets the video input is found by channeling down below channel 2 where you will find the video input source.

Setting up mintek 100 dvd player to cable box to tv

Newer TVs have multiple inputs. Mr Mark is correct, you generally do not daisy-chain Audio/Video units unless you are using a recording device. Cable box to Cable input on TV. DVD player to other inputs.

Let's get some terminology out of the way. Specifically for the Mintek DVD-1600. There are NO inputs.

Coaxial Audio out (orange) is for digital audio only. Usually connects to stereo reciever for Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Not for TV.

S-Video (black w/4 small holes, 1 square) is for better quality video than composite. Use this to TV instead of Composite if you have a S-Video input on your TV.

Composite (Yellow) Older video input type. Works just fine. Connect to TV.

Audio Output ( Red & White) for analog stereo only. Goes to TV. Red=right, White=left channels.

Component Video Out (Blue, Green White) is the newest video output type in this unit. Better than S-Video. Use this option if available on your TV instead of S-Video or component.
