Question about HP Photosmart 2610xi All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Slow and deliberate printing on HP 2610xi Photosmart Printer

Suddenly my HP2610xi Photosmart Printer starting copying and printing very slowly much like it might print a color photograph when I've only asked to print or copy a black and white 8 1/2X 11 sheet of paper. It prints test pages very quickly. I've set print quality to "fast" but it still just copies or prints very deliberately especially when making a copy. All other functions are working (e.g. scanning etc.). I cleaned and aligned print cartridges (in fact the printing speed is almost like it is "stuck" in cleaning print cartridge speed mode?). It takes somewhat over 60 seconds to print a single page. The quality is good but it acts like everything is bold faced or like printing color quality.

When you are printing a photograph, the back is resultant of combination of RGB but when you print a latter of document it usages only the black ink. So since the black is properly printed when it's combining RGB that means any of the color is low on ink. Replacing the color cartridge will solve the problem for you.

I would be taking it back to the place of purchase and asking them to replace it. Or contacting HP directly with the problem.

You can contact HP via their home page of their website, or use the link below for troubleshooting and support:

NOTEs:

1. Unless you are printing a final copy of an item it is a good idea to always print in Draft Quality (to save your ink). HP Printers allow you to do this. This setting is generally within the Print window, when you select Print.

2. When you are printing a final copy then switch from DRAFT to BEST quality.

Trying to print a B & W photograph and it

Just go to printer's properties and select color ---> Color options---> Print in Grayscale ------>Select Black print Cartridge only then I think your problem is solved. If it not fulfill your desire then you need to change your cartridge.

Unable to add a functioning (second) printer, for greyscale.

Clicked on Start/Control Panel/PrinterI. Clicked Add a printer. Obtained (Copy 1) of my HP Photosmart C7280 all-in-one printer. Right clicked on (Copy 1)/properties. Opened Ports tab. Saw comment "Print to the following Ports. Documents will print to the first free checked port." A listed USB Virtual printer port, showed three printers -- my first printer, my copy 1 (& my fax printer) -- was unchecked. I placed a checkmark in this Port box. Both the original printer, and my copy 1 printer are printing just fine. *I have not checked to verify that my fax is functional.
I did rename the original "color". I renamed Copy 1 as "grayscale", and --under printer preferences, checked, under "color options", to print in greyscale.

Lines appearing across printed photographs

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

HP Photosmart 7760 printer won't print on colored paper??????

hi icymay,

on photosmart machines you have different trays for different sized media. try placing it on the one for envelops tray or on the regular tray towards the left corner. try copying first if that works try printing from the pc. you may need to change the paper type if it fails to start the print job.

cheers
