It sounds like you upgraded from XP or another OS. If so you will have to uninstall the printer driver and software (do this from control panel/ Add-Remove programs or look under the Canon folder in Programs for an uninstall program) and then load the printer drivers/software for VISTA. Check Canon's website for the downloads, they should be free if they have a driver for VISTA.

How do i print black and white?

Hi!

Kindly follow these steps:
1.
  • On Windows XP or earlier: Go to Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes
  • On Windows Vista/7: Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sounds -> Printers (or Control Panel -> Printers - if on classic view)
2. Right click your Pixma printer icon and choose Printing Preferences.
3. In the dialogue box, tick the Grayscale Printing option.
4. Click OK to save and close.

Print a test page to see if you succeed...
Repeat and un-tick that option if you ever want to revert to color printing again.

Hope I helped,
Pelu.

I have a Canon iP1800 color printer. I recently

Look around thoroughly in the Printers > Properties tabs. While in the shop, they have no doubt tested your computer (without your printer hooked up). Try letting your computer boot up without the printer, then with printer power on, plug in the USB cable.

Perhaps your printer is "offline." If so, right click on your printer's name in control panel. Choose "Use printer online".

Need more that one copy at a time

?? Not sure whether you are trying to make copies of something placed on the scanner bed, or print multiple pages from a computer, but both can be done.
If scanning to a copy, use the controls on the panel to set the number of copies to whatever you need.
If you are printing, use your software/print settings to set the print quantity.
