Unable to see if an internal extension is engaged

I have a Nortel T7136E handset in my office and I would like to be able to see when internal extensions are using the land line. I used to have the feature, however for some reason it is no longer there and I would like to get it back. Please help me. THank you. Melissa

It doesn't exactly work that way, but you can program the extensions back under the buttons. Pick a button that you want to save an extension under and press FEAT *2 the button and dial the 2 or 3 digit extension number. Now the button monitors the status of the extension. It will light whether it's in DND, or busy on an outside or internal call.

When you call an internal extension and the extension is either busy or ringing, you can invoke the Ring Again (Call Back) feature. If Ring Again is activated when the dialed extension is ringing, you will be notified when there is activity on the phone and the phone becomes idle. Hi Amy, you can change the name for an extension, but it will change the name for the extension for all the phones.

It is best to do programming on a T7316, M7310, or an M7324

1. Feature **23646
2. Password: 266344

3. Scroll to General Admin
4. Go to Names
5. Select Set Names
6. Enter in the DN of the extension you would like to change
7. Use the dial pad to change the extension.

How to move extension numbers from office to office using nortel t7316e

There is a feature built-in to the norstar system called "Set Relocation". When this feature is turned on, you can move a working extension to an unused/activated jack and the extension, features and mailbox will stay with the phone.
Have your system administrator turn the feature on, then move up to 2 phones at a time. The phone will go through 2 bootup sessions - be patient and don't unplug the phone.

Change extension number on Nortel T7316E model

Well ~ eagleeigh731 has it mostly correct, do what he said to do and get into the programming --> find SYSTEM PRGRAMMING --> hit next until you find CHANGE DNs--> OLD DNs (this is the old extn#) 222 then type in NEW DN 431--> then hit the end or release button.
Voila your new extension is now there... to check dial FEATURE 0 then press the intercom button, the new extension should be there.
