JVC KD-PDR30 overheating

My grandson has a JVC KD-PDR30 unit that was installed a little over a year ago. He says recently it has been getting hot and shutting off and the station pre-sets are lost. It is installed in a Mazda B-4000 pickup with four factory speakers. The pre-amp output is feeding a powered sub-woofer. He is coming by this morning to have me look at it, I'm an electrician by trade. Got any ideas what I should look for?

Think the sub woofer my be drawing to much power try disconnecting the sub for a few days and see how it goes

How do you set the time on a JVC KD-PDR30
press and hold select
use the skip track forward/ backward to select "clock H" and "clock M"
when you have selected either/or use the dial to change the number
press select to exit and save

Lost owners manuel cant turn off demo mode
Press and hold "Select button" and then press the fast forward button ( >>) to get into more menus such as clock set, demo on/off, clock display on/off, scroll, dimmer on/off,etc...
On or Off selection can be made with the volume knob. Enjoy!!!

Jvc kd-pdr30 ipod problems
The Touch will not work with the KDPDR30. I spoke with JVC and their models that will operate the Touch are KDPDR40, KDAPD49, KDPDR45, KDPDR41 and KDG47 the last two have a cable required.

Power will not stay on
Sounds like you're not getting voltage on the accessory power lead. This is the red wire at the back of the deck, and it supplies power whenever the key is switched on. It's possible that your vehicle's radio fuse is blown.
