If your Brother machine does not appear to have power, then check whether or not the date and time appear on your Brother machine's LCD. If anything is displayed on your Brother machine's LCD, then it is most likely receiving power. If your Brother machine's LCD is blank, continue to Step 2.
Verify the Brother machine's power cord is connected securely to the power outlet. If you are using a surge protector, extension cord, or power switch, disconnect it and plug the Brother machine directly into the wall outlet.
Please note Brother strongly recommends that you connect your machine to a surge protector.Because To protect your investment against power surges and lightning,
In particular, we suggest that you use a surge protector that is compatible with both standard A.C. power cords and telephone line cords. Surge protectors equipped with telephone jacks will assist in insulating your machine from any power surge that might travel through a telephone line.
If the Brother machine is turned OFF, its LCD will be blank. Please make sure the Brother machine is powered ON by pressing and holding the On/Off or Power Save key. This key is located in the upper-right corner of the control panel.
If your Brother machine's LCD is still blank, connect it to a completely different, known working power outlet. If the Brother machine powers up, then the problem is related to the original outlet.

Confirm the power outlet is working by plugging another known working device (a lamp, radio, etc.) directly into the same outlet. If the other device does not work, the problem is related to that power outlet. If a wall switch controls the outlet, verify that the switch is ON.

Can I oil the side gear wheel on a toner drum? (WD40)? Seems tight to me and getting paper jams like cray. Brother mfc 8710dw

You can get a new drum online for super cheap. Don't mess with oiling the gears as you may make more damage to other printer parts. Check out the link below. We buy from them or other eBay sellers.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/263265889942
If the drum is not the issue, then this is most likley what is happening: Your printer's fuser is going bad. You may replace the rollers and the sleeve to fix the problem. Will cost you about $30 for a set and 2 hours of your time. See videos for better explanation:

How do i reset the usage counters for fuser, laser and pf kit 1?

Hi Ron, to reset counters all you have to do is press the 3 and 9 buttons simultaniously when unit is in the ready state. Then scroll down to the unit you wish to reset and follow directions on the screen. After resetting, turn machine off/on. Very easy to do.
