I have a 2010 Polaris ranger with a dealer installed warn winch. The winch will power out but not in. It had been working then just quit. how can I test winch to make sure it works or if the problem is in my hand held controler
Put jumper leads from a battery across the main terminals of the winch It should work one way Then reverse the polarity and it should work the other way. If so the winch is good . undo the hand held and check the switch by using a multi meter for continuity on the leads as you switch from in to out.(forward reverse)
Testimonial: "ok great I will try that this morning. thank you"

DID YOU CHECK THE RECALLS?? MY 93 F150 HAD A RECALL W/ THE CRUISE CONTROLL (WICH I HAVENT DONE..LOL) AND SUPOSIVLY IF IT ISN'T FIXED IT'LL CAUSE A ENGINE FIRE.. ACCORDING TO THE FORD DEALER IF THIS RECALL SERVICE IS PERFORMED IT CAN POSIBLY MAKE THE CRUISE WORK AGAIN.. (MINE DON'T WORK EITHER) I DONO.. MABE IT'S THAT.

there is a control box for the cruise control behind the glove box . You can remove the cover by pushing in from both sides of the glove box door . the control box will be just inside the glove box to the top. it simply unplugs. any junk yard with an aerostar or ranger or explorer will have one of these control boxes fairly cheap. these control boxes are commonly known to just quit workingand are a very easy fix.
