In order to assist further, more information is required. You indicate that there are some discolored resistors on the board. There should be a marking on the board at each location like: Rxxx Where the xxx is a number. If you can post the numbers here for the parts that are discolored, I can look them up in the service manual for you.

Thanks,
Dan

Convergence was bad. Before kit was used no audio or video

It says Zenith here and if different let me know----if the convergence failed and took a resistor or fuse device (not a glass fuse) out the set will be dead--set detects no voltage to that area and shuts down for protection.

My zenith a60m91w1 has a bowed hourglas picture ithe prsim like colors at top and bottom

Your TV most likely has one of two possible problems.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Picture of a set that needs the fluid changed.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc

U have tools like a soldering iron, desoldering pump or desoldering braid and solders?U know how to do basic soldering? The tv convergence board require replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors too,to solved this chirping sound problems.Tries websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self. The shop, will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

Zenith R60v26 has burnt resistor at RK5 on convergence board

Hello, I have the exact same issue with my R49W36, I replaced the convergence chips but there are also two 1 ohm resistors with the same color pattern as yours that are bad. I have looked all over and cannot find a 1 ohm resistor anywhere. Where did you find it?
