I have a 54 reg honda jazz, brake pads changed 2 months ago, just started to drive and a scraping sound is coming from the back passenger side wheel (sounds like). i pulled over and had a look, but there was nothing falling down or whatever. itsounds like something scraping along the floor/scraping another part of the car. any ideas?
Probably nothing to worry about, new brake pads take a little time to adjust. If the problem doesn't go away within a few hundred miles, then I would have a look at the brake job
Agreed there may be a while until the pads wear in it would be good to check that the wheels are not getting hot, pour a small amount of water on the wheels and see if there is any steam (after a reasonable long drive) this will indicate over heating. do not use your hand for obvious reasons. also if you have disc breaks which have not been skimmed or replaced when the pads where replaced they you may have noise for a while until the pads wear down to the irregular shape of the discs.
