Most likely the tension band that is attached to the mechanical parts of motor and the tray detached. you'll need to disconnect the power and unscrew the cover open and put the band back in place.

Returns error message :Unknown Disc. Please Check Disc Again" The DVD disc plays on other DVD players with no problem.

Problem may be reset needed, or lens need cleaning, or dvd recoreder worn out. Reset is pull the plug from the wall for 5 minutes. Turn it back on after reset to load firmware again, may work after that.. TDK makes lens cleaner. LG uses fan so, dirt can get into dvd recorder lens. If the tray moves out wiggly, laser assembly may move wiggly too. Replace dvd recorder which is a dvd+-rw regular ide unit from computers.

LG RH1757 (80 GB) DVD Recorder / HDD Recorder Drawer keeps opening Drawer keeps opening and closing and won't read discs! Rassie from Cape Town South Africa

Could be a timing issue with the tray mechanism - possible that somebody has given the tray "a shove" to make it close instead of using the open/close button and has put the timing out.or a worn tray loading belt

DVD disc tray keeps popping out

I had mine for 2 years and within the first 12 months the tray would not always pop out when I wanted it to. Then finally the machine would not recognise the disc type. Its in getting fixed but although the dvd drive and associated pcb have been replaced the guy says it still can't recognise the dvd disc type. Still trying to work it out.

Dvd is unable to read disk that i recoreded on the lg dvd recorder

It would be nothing to do with the TV.

DVD RW discs only last for so long if you have re-written to them many times they may be just worn out. Or is it with all RW discs?

Are you trying to watch them on the same player you recorded them on or is it a different DVD Player you are trying to watch them on?

LG DR-4810 DVD Displays " PLEASE WAIT"

to open the tray during "please wait", remove casing then loosen front panel (clips either side and underneath). Power up to get "please wait", then press small microswitch in bottom right corner of the DVD player unit. Have you tried resetting the unit (turning on and holding the power button for at least 5-10 seconds)? Have you tried unplugging the unit for a longer period of time (24 hours)? get your firmware upgrade through here(sorry its in german, you might be able to get an english of it through the LG site) - http://www.lgupdate.de.ms/ two cd's- bootloader.iso , update.iso Good luck
