SOURCE: im trying to wire a astatic d104 m6b to a galaxy

This works for any mic.
dont worry about color codes. look at the switches.. there will be a common on both poles of the d104.. those need to be tied together to grnd. pin 1 on mic . the others d104 on n/c side is your rx. pin 4... the n/o one will be your tx pin 3 the other n/o will be audio and will have a wire from the mic element also on that pole of the switch. pin 2..

CB Uniden 4-wire mic to a Uniden 510 radio how to wire color codes please

look up microphone wiring diagram for your cb and mic. more than one way to wire, depending on mic and cb having 4 or 5 on plug end. write down mic numbers and cb plug numbers. if audio on mic is 3 and cb is 4 put 3 on 4 pin check each wire. using power mic make sure red and black wire are on the right pin, can damage radio or mic or both.

I need to wire a silver salute mic to a cobra 142 gtl 5 pin what color wire goes towhat mic pin

dont go by colors.. go by what wires are on the switch and mic element.. mics can be rewired and no one told you the colors could have changed FYI..

Pin #1 ~ Audio
Pin #2 ~ Shield
Pin #3 ~ Receive
Pin #4 ~ Switch Wire
Pin #5 ~ Transmit

always go by connections not color of the wire. that way you learn and you can do any mic. to any radio.

Have a33hml sometimes does not transmitt or rec

take apart the mic where it plugs into the radio.
there are probably loose wires.
make sure to mark each wire where it is hooked up to the mic pins before you start messing with it. Example: red #1..black..#2 ETC ETC.
the mic plug has numbers on it and the colored wires go to certain numbers on the mic plug.

I would like the color breakdown on the wiring diagram

colors are on the bike side of the connector are spelled out in the shop manual, however they do not include what is used for the headset side of the connector. These are the three pin numbers on the connector that appear to be the ones for the microphone portion. Hope it helps. For the whole setup the passenger uses 5 pins and a tab; while the driver uses all 7 pins plus a tab. So, on a HD three wires will not correctly interface with the system.

pin 4 =BK = MIC Common
pin 2 = passenger gy/bk & Drain = MIC Shield
pin 2 = front y/bk & Drain = MIC Shield
pin 1 = red = MIC

Mic problem

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, the 4 pin mic connector and corresponding pin # would depend on the communications equipment the Astatic was initially wired for. However, the color coding of the wires in an Astatic would be:
  • white - mic audio;
  • shield/blue - gnd;
  • black - NC or speaker;
  • red - NO or PTT;
  • yellow - not normally used.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Converting a different brand of mic for a midland CB

This should be a typical Midland pinout. If you are using a generic 4 pin mic that is wired to cobra/Uniden, all you have to do is switch pin 1 & 2, then 3 & 4.

Not all mics are color coded the same with their wires.
